  5. He is really generous, kind and hard working. I remember him coming to pick me up from uni in Cornwall from Essex and take me back home after working an early morning shift.

  9. My Dad is 82 and still thinks nothing of a 15 mile walk, and is disappointed if there isn't a hill or 2 to climb in it! Since my Mum died 10 years ago he amazed us all at his ability to cook, which we never knew about, and he makes a fantastic birthday cake!

  10. My old Dad is a complete one-off! He cares about football, cricket, Mum and his kids. (Probably in that order lol). Nothing else seems to exist!

  13. Even after being a grand dad to my 2 year old son, my father still thinks of me as his little girl and worries for me more than his grandson. Its adorable.

  14. My Dad died in an accident when I was 7 years old but I remember him as someone who everybody said he was a lovely bloke!

  18. My dad is currently studying with the Open University, and doing us all absolutely proud with how well he's doing.

    His health isn't great anymore, sadly, but doing his degree is keeping his mind active, and keeping him out of mischief! Haha!

    He's generous, silly, and honest - which he taught me to be, too.

  26. my dad is a retired mental health nurse - and a biker. He spends most of his time in his holiday home in West Wales and usually 2 months in Winter in Spain which he hasnt been able to do now for 2 years thanks to covid so he is quite grumpy about it lol

    My dad died when I was a child but my OH has taken over that very caring role in my life. He deserves a delicious chocolate treat!

  36. The father figure I admired the most has unfortunately passed away 10 days ago. He was in his 90s and was the most kind and caring person ever. I have never heard him even raise his voice before. I'd love to gift this prize to his wife.

  37. My dad has just got put of hospital after sending three weeks there and us nearly losing him on multiple occasions. This fathers day is definitely going to be something to celebrate!

  42. I don't really have a father figure in my life since my dad died. He was so important and probably I didn't appreciate him enough when he was alive. My husband though has some of his great qualities; generous, helpful, kind, loving etc.

  45. My fiance, Jim, and father to our two children never judges our children on mistakes they might make in their life. Instead he focuses on their strengths. I think thats a really lovely quality!Hes a great role model to us all and would love to see him rewarded for all his dedication to us xx

  49. My dad is amazing, he is 88 now and loves a bit of chocolate, he used to make medicine for animals until he retired and has been without my mum for almost 20 years so this would put a smile on his face I'm sure!

  51. My Dad is also my best friend. I’m lucky enough to work with him. We’re like two peas in a pod! He would do anything for me and is so so caring. He is also a relatively new Grampy and he’s adorable!

  53. My Mam died when I was small, so my Dad brought me up on his own. There was not much help for single fathers in those days. I unexpectedly became a mother at forty, and he was/is a great support. Although he does come round, get all the toys out, eat the snacks and finds an excuse to go home at tidy time.

  55. My Father sadly died when I was only 21
    He was a Naval Captain who had been at sea for most of our lives but I so adored him. I became a great traveller visiting many ( so far! ) of the countries that he sent me letters and postcards about there were no mobiles in those days and it was paper blue letters and envelopes and ship to shore radio in the middle of the night - I always missed him - he always made it home for christmas which makes me sob on christmas eve as he never knew my husband and his grandchildren but he was such an inspiration to me to find out about others cultures and countries & food and for that I thank him

  56. My Dad was one of those Dad's that could fix, make and do anything... he taught me right from wrong, he let me make my own mistakes but was always there to pick me up if I made the wrong choice. I am thankful for him everyday!

  60. A wonderful man whose knowledge and ingenuity, particularly with household items, knows no bounds. Over the years he has attempted, and often succeeded, to fix many an item which would otherwise have remained broken and useless. A true great :)
