Eating Out - The Queslett Pub, Sutton Coldfield
It's been a few weeks since we last ate out as a family so it was a lovely treat on Sunday to head to newly refurbished The Queslett in Sutton Coldfield for our Sunday Dinner. It serves up authentic British cooking and real ales in a genuine local pub warmed by a cosy fire. We'd not been to The Queslett before so we're excited to see what it was like. The Pub looks very modern and spacious, inside and out and has a great feel of 'friendliness and warmth' inside. Our little table for four in the corner was the perfect setting to enjoy a peaceful family Sunday meal. Even though the Pub was quite busy during our visit which was nice to see, we were still able to relax and enjoy our meal and family time out together.
The Menu has a wide variety of dishes on it so there's plenty of delicious food to choose from. We decided to treat ourselves to Starters, Garlic Bread for the kids, Salt and Pepper Calamari for Daddy and the Duck Live and Post parfait for me. Everything looked great and tasted just as good as it looked. Everything was beautifully presented and seasoned well.
You can't beat a nice slice of Garlic Bread Ciabatta.
For our Mains we enjoyed a kids Chicken Nuggets and Chips for Ryan, an Adults Classic Beef Burger for Lily and a Classic Chicken Burger with BBQ sauce for Mummy and a Mixed Grill with an Upgraded to 8 oz Steak with a Peppercorn Sauce on the side for Daddy.
Everything was cooked lovely and tasted great. The portion sizes were quite big so everyone had enough to eat. Again, everything was presented nicely and came out nice and hot. We had no problems with our meals and enjoyed tucking into them whilst we chatted.
You might think the plate looks a little empty but that's because the plates were really big and I asked for no side salad which is normally included with the meals. The Chicken Burger was so good and that bun, that bun was the yummiest, softest bun, I've had in a while.
Daddies Mixed Grill looked and tasted great. He was super happy with his meal and finished the whole lot. It was nice to see good sized pieces of meat that were all cooked perfectly.
We had such a lovely visit to The Queslett on Sunday and really enjoyed our food. The staff were super friendly to everyone in the Pub, you really got the vibe of a good local Pub. The real wood fire was so lovely too. It kept us all super cosy and warm whilst Storm Dennis raged around us outside. It may have been windy and wet outside but it was lovely inside.
We would definitely recommend The Questlett to our friends and family as a nice place to go and eat. The meals cost a little more than we're used too but the standard of them was very high. Our four starters, and four Mains, plus a drink each cost us £59.00 in total.
So if you're looking for somewhere to relax and eat with your family in and around Sutton Coldfield or Birmingham, The Queslett could be an ideal choice for you to try out.
I may have enjoyed a cheeky glass of wine whilst we were out. *Cheers*
The Queslett is an Ember Inns Pub so you can find one wherever you live in the UK.
