Disney's Beauty and the Beast at Birmingham Hippodrome

Disney's Beauty and the Beast at

Birmingham Hippodrome

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is here in town at the Birmingham Hippodrome right up until Saturday March 26th. The most enchanted musical of all time, my personal favourite, Beauty and the Beast, returns to the stage for a brand new, completely reimagined UK & Ireland tour.

Spectacularly reimagined using the latest theatrical innovations, stunning sets and amazing actors. Disney’s beloved ‘tale as old as time’ has been brought to life on the stage like never before, with all the charm and elegance audiences expect from beautiful Belle and her Beast.

Last night was a whirlwind of emotions for me, getting lost in pure Disney magic for a few hours. Getting swept up in the drama, the showstopping dance routines and the romance, it was just what I needed. I'd never been to see a Disney production live before so I had no expectations but if I had, everyone of them would have been exceeded over and over.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is a story we all know and love but the live show is a little different or it would all be way too predictable. They haven't changed much or it would spoil the story but they have changed just enough to make it exciting and keep you entertained.

Being a Disney production, of course everything was going to be magical. Everything from the amazingly talented cast to the enchanting scenery and the dazzling costumes, was absolutely perfect. The stage effects included everything from fog machines, to glitter cannons and neon lights galore. It was such a spectacular sight to see and enjoy live.

The cast included a rather charming voice over from the amazing Angela Lansbury, Sam Bailey with her gorgeous voice was Mrs Potts, Gavin Lee charmed the whole audience as the wonderful Lumiere and of course the beautiful Belle was played by the amazing Grace Swaby-Moore for our showing last night. Each and every cast member up on that stage last night was truly superb. They're such a talented cast, totally deserving of the standing ovation they received. I think I have a new favourite theatre show - Yes. It was that good!

Every song was sung perfectly and every dance routine was engaging. I especially loved the ten minute 'Be Our Guest' spectacular, just Wow. This show really does have everything. Last night I fell in love with the story of Beauty and the Beast all over again. Even though I knew how the story would I end, the emotions were overwhelming and so real. Seeing a story like this one unfold live on stage before you're very eyes was just incredible and I loved every minute of it. I hate to admit it but I actually cried sad tears when the Beast died and happy tears when Chip became a real boy. I don't think I was the only one either, it was intense.

This show is truly magical and I definitely recommend that you go see it if you can.

The Magic of Disney is Real and Beauty and the Beast, has it!
