We Visited the The Tyburn House, a Sizzling Pub & Grill for a Family Mid-Week Treat #Review

We Visited the The Tyburn House, a Sizzling Pub & Grill for a Family Mid-Week Treat.

The sun had his hat on here in Brum today so we opted for Dinner Out for a nice mid-week treat. We headed down the road to The Tyburn House, in Castle Vale, Birmingham. We've passed this place so many times before but had never actually been inside. It's situated on a huge Island so we often drive past it, but today we decided to pop inside and check it out.

We've visited lots of different Sizzling Pub & Grill's over the past few years so you may think that all our experiences would be the same but that's not always the case. We've had good visits and bad visits but let's not get into those, I want to talk to you about today's visit.

I'm not sure why but I was expecting the Pub to be busy and loud and noisy today but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, the place wasn't deserted or anything. There were lots of people inside, enjoying a drink or two at the bar, watching sports on the TV's and eating their meals with family and friends. It was very relaxed inside, real peaceful and friendly.

The Tyburn House had a complete make over last year and looks real homely now. There's lots of comfy booths around the outside of the room and smaller tables with chairs around the middle. The place is really clean and tidy and looks really new and fresh. We happily sat and enjoyed our family meal for a whole two hours this afternoon. The staff were amazing.

The Assistant Manager greeted us on arrival and looked after us throughout our visit. She was real friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome. I got the feeling that this place is a real 'community' pub by the way the staff were interacting with their guests. Everyone was relaxed, smiling and enjoying their visit. It made us very at ease, and made for an enjoyable afternoon. We were there for food mainly but the bar looked pretty impressive too.

We treated ourselves to a House Sharer Starter which was full of delicious treats. The BBQ Chicken Wings are so good, the BBQ sauce is sweet and sticky just like it should be. Daddy had the Ultimate Mixed Grill whilst I went for a new dish called The Eastern Trio. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. The meat was cooked well and the flavours were real good.

The portion sizes were very generous as both of us were completely full up when we'd finished. I actually didn't manage to finish all of mine as there was just too much to eat.

The Kids choose their meals from the Kids Menu, Over 5's Section which was just the right sized portion for them. Ryan had the Fish Fingers whilst Lily had the Chicken Nuggets. Again, both were served up nice and hot and tastes great. Both kids enjoyed their meals.

Even though we were quite full up, we couldn't resist trying the Deserts. I had a Vanilla and Caramel Cheesecake, Lily had an Oreo Sundae and Ryan had the Chocolate Fudge Cake. Daddy was too full to have a Desert (that's how I know the portion sizes were big here).

Deserts were good. My cheesecake was a little heavy but that's just my personal opinion. Ryan enjoyed his Chocolate Fudge Cake and Lily loved her Oreo Sundae, it was yummy.

We had a lovely afternoon at The Tyburn House today, I had fun and it's really cheered me up. Who said we have to wait for Fridays' to enjoy a meal out? Going out on a Thursday is just as good as going out on a Friday, maybe even better in fact, as it was much quieter.

The Tyburn House is positioned right off the Tyburn Island making it easy to get too from Erdington, Castle Bromwich and Minworth. It has a nice big car park surrounding the pub with plenty of spaces which makes stopping off a whole lot easier and Car Parking is free.

Our food was lovely today, the staff were great and the place itself was relaxing and calm. It was a fab mid-week treat that I wouldn't mind repeating again real soon, it was that good.

The Sizzling Pub & Grill serves good pub grub at affordable prices.

"Whether you're up for a party, watching sport, meeting friends and family or relaxing and taking the time to unwind, The Tyburn House is the pub putting the sizzle in Castle Vale"

Disclosure: We received a discount off our food in return for an honest review.
