Luxury Summer Dresses from David Charles Childrenswear #Review

Luxury Summer Dresses from
David Charles Childrenswear.

Lily loves a pretty dress, I mean, what young lady doesn't? This week she was invited to pick a dress of her choice from David Charles Childrenswear which hosts a fantastic collection of beautiful girls designer dresses. Lily was in dress heaven, she was so excited. There was so many beautiful dressed to choose from but after several hours of deliberation she chose their Orange Summer Sunrise Dress which is absolutely stunning.

Captivating and colourful, bold and beautiful. This dress is a gorgeous sunrise orange and red palette with a bold floral design. This smooth satin gown has a luxurious fit and flare silhouette and inverted pleats at the skirt, this designer piece offers a youthful skater look.

It includes sweet subtle cap sleeves and a concealed zip fastening down the back.

Lily absolutely loves it, it's so smooth and comfortable to wear and looks great on. It's really swishy and swirls like a dream. She's been spinning around and around and around for ages. Although Lily is 12 years old we went for the Age 13 dress with the help of the websites very useful sizing guides. David Charles Childrenswear definitely like to make sure you get the right sized dress for you. I loved the measurement chart and found it really helpful as her dress fits perfectly with still a little growing room so that it will last for a while.

The Orange Summer Sunrise Dress that Lily is wearing costs £280. There is often discounts and sales on their dresses so it's always worth looking out for these as this dress is currently (checked today on July 27th) reduced to just £179. I'm not sure how long that price will last but it's a great price for such a beautiful designer dress. The quality of this dress is outstanding, the design is so elegant and pretty and the fabrics are so luxurious and soft.

Lily loves her new David Charles Childrenswear dress so much and can't wait to wear it throughout the Summer. We have several events coming up, perfect for this dress. A family BBQ, Summer walks in the park and of course, our Summer Holiday at the end of Summer.

Thank you David Charles Childrenswear - Lily loves her dress!

Annie the Musical Hits Birmingham's Hippodrome and It's Smiles All Round! #Review

Annie the Musical Hits Birmingham's Hippodrome
and It's Smiles All Round.

Last night, Annie the Musical came to town and we were lucky enough to be there on Press night. We were so excited beforehand as Annie has been such a memorable part of this family since I was a little girl. It's always been one of my favourites since I watched the original movie and even now I often find myself singing 'The Sun will come out, Tomorrow'.

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, a sweet young girl named Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage for girls. Her luck changes one day when she’s chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Whilst Annie is living the high life, spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family but will she have a happy ending?

With its Tony award-winning book and score, including the unforgettable songs It’s The Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You and Tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar that you’ll love it! We can happily say - we did! It's amazing!

The kids were fantastic, they really filled the room with fun and laughter throughout the show. We loved Miss Hannigan played by the lovely Jodie Prenger and her drunken shenanigans, she had us laughing all the time and Mr Warbucks, well, he was just adorable. Annie was superb and played her role so well and Sandy the dog, how cute was he? He was so well behaved and made us all laugh out loud. We sat watching the whole show in awe with a smile from ear to ear, quite literally, from the first moment right through until the very end when the whole room erupted into a standing applause for them all. It was a truly magical night, being able to see an old favourite being brought to life on the stage.

Annie is the perfect musical to take the whole family to, we all loved it.

Annie the Musical will be here at the Birmingham Hippodrome for the next three weeks. Starting from today, Wednesday 24th July and running right up until Sunday 11th August.

It's the perfect timing for a Summer Holiday treat for the family.

Flight Club - Birmingham's Newest Social Darts Bar

Flight Club - Birmingham's Newest Social Darts Bar

Last night I attended the Press Launch of Birmingham's newest bar in town and have to say that it's amazing! It opens to the public from today, Friday July 19th but last night we got to go inside and enjoy a sneak preview beforehand. Standing proud on Birmingham's Temple Street, it's in a prime location for an easy to get too, night out. It's just a two minutes stroll from New Street Station and even has a queue of Taxis waiting outside for an easy pickup at night. It's definitely the kind of bar I'd want to go to with my girls if we were out in town.

Flight Club Birmingham has a really fun and modern feel throughout. It's like having all the fun of the fair but with a added bar and a darts board. It has everything you'd expect from a good bar in the city centre, it's got gorgeous cocktails, delicious food, a DJ and dance floor.

But then it has so much more. Social Darts is played in an area called an ‘oche’ (it rhymes with hockey). That’s the space from the throw line to the dartboard, as well as your own seating area. It reminded me a little of when you go bowling, you take your picture and add your name before you start. Each oche can hold up to 12 players and costs around £30 for the hour which isn't per person, it's per playing area which makes it a good price really.

There's 5 fun games you can play and each one was very different to your usual game of Darts. I loved the fact that the games took away the skill levels and made the game easier for the non dart players like me. Social Darts was great fun and a great way to make new friends. I guess when you book your own oche, you'll be with people you know but last night we were all mixed up with strangers and it turned out to be a great idea as I made so many new friends. There's nothing like being paired with a total stranger to bring out your competitive streak. I found myself getting into the game, enjoying lots of laughs, creams and even a few high fives. An hour of Darts has never been so much fun, I absolutely loved it.

Your oche has everything you need for a good night out. There's a hidden place for your bags underneath the counters, coat hooks on the wall for your coats and jackets, a comfy seating area to relax on, in between your goes and a super savvy computer that not only controls your game throughout but also allows you to order any drinks and food too.

The clever super computer also films you and plays back random Play Backs when you least expect it. I won one of my games and got the surprise of my life when it flashed up on the screen with a replay video of me taking my shot and then celebrating afterwards by high fiving my team mate but it was all in good fun and it did give us something to laugh at.

The Tankard Ten Cocktail was very very nice, made up of Tanqueray 10 gin, peach and
peach liqueur, lemon and cider, it made for a really cool, refreshing drink (£9.75).

The Pizzas were pretty good too, I'd definitely order one of them on my next visit.

This place had such a good vibe to it, the whole place was buzzing last night. The Games were great fun, the place looked amazing and the food was spot on. I had brought my Father In Law along with me last night as he's a huge darts lover and I'm happy to say he had a great time, he loved it. It was nice to look around and see a room full of people of all ages coming together through the love of a game. Who knew darts was so much fun.

Flight Club Birmingham opens today and I'm dying to go back again already. I can't wait to get my girls together and get stuck in. It definitely gets my seal of approval.

Disclosure: I was invited to the Press Launch of Birmingham's Flight Club. This review is written in all honesty with my own opinions about the experiences I enjoyed.

Thomas & Friends Digs & Discoveries World Premier at Drayton Manor Park #Review

Thomas & Friends Digs & Discoveries
World Premier at Drayton Manor Park.

This morning we were lucky enough to be invited attend the World's Premiere screening of the brand new Thomas & Friends, Digs & Discoveries short films. We were VIP guests at the home of Thomas Land itself, Drayton Manor Park in Tamworth. How excited were we!

We were entertained by two lovely Milkshake presenters, Kemi and Derek who sang and danced along with the children in the crowd. We were treated to refreshments including yummy sweet popcorn and a meet and greet with the main man himself, the Fat Controller.

In the new Thomas & Friends: Digs & Discoveries Specials, Thomas discovers a brand new world of wonder as he explores the buried history of Italy. With a fun construction theme and exciting archaeological digs, you'll meet lots of new characters including Stefano the Super Cruiser, Brenda the Bulldozer, and engines Gina, Lorenzo and Beppe who all  help Thomas on his latest adventure. We really enjoyed the stories and found it very entertaining. Both Ryan and Lily liked the movies and laughed along with the films. We liked the new characters and loved Gina, she's wonderful. There was lots of educational facts thrown in which made it really good too. We liked the way learning had been made fun.

There will be a number of shows shown throughout the days between the 7th and 14th of July 2019. You can download their app or visit the 4D cinema during your visit to find out all the times. I'm sure it'll be a nice treat for any young Thomas fan to enjoy on their next visit.

We love the Drayton Manor 4D Cinema and visit it every time we go. The short movies are always fun to watch to pass a few minutes inside away from the crowds outside. It's also perfect for rainy days, like today, where we got to shelter inside whilst having lots of fun.

If you'd like to see the Thomas & Friends Digs & Discoveries exclusive specials before they air, you can do so right there in their very own 4D Cinema at Drayton Manor Park.

Once the films were over we then went out into the park to enjoy the rest of our day. It was Ryan's first visit now being over the 1.2M height restrictions so it was very exciting for him. He got to ride the Air Race ride for the first time and loved it. He got to drive the Dodgems with Daddy and get absolutely drenched with us all on the Storm Force 10 which was ace.

Now that Ryan is tall enough to go on the 'bigger' rides, we can't wait to visit more often.

We've had such a fun day out at Drayton Manor today, it's been great and we even got given some fantastic Goody Bags to take home too. The kids have been well and truly looked after and spoilt today, so thank you to the lovely people of Drayton Manor.
