Rustlers Burger Hacking Challenge - 3 Steps to Burger Heaven!

Rustlers Burger Hacking Challenge.
3 Steps to Burger Heaven!

Being a Mum of 3 can get pretty hectic at times, especially around mealtimes. With 3 kids there's always one or two of them who want something different or don't like that, or want this. I tend to try make one thing but then serve it up in three different ways to suit each child. Whether it's adding Tomato Ketchup or removing the cheese. It's often these little things or changes that make their meal individual and make each child happy. This week we took part in the Rustler Burger Hacking Challenge with BritMums which has been lots of fun.

Our Mission: was to take a Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burger Twin Pack and make them our own and hack them up (not literally) but to make them unique and personal to us.

Hearing that Rustlers provides a quick, convenient and affordable meal when mums need it most, I decided to give them a try. I headed to our local Tesco and grabbed our Rustlers burgers and everything else I needed to get us going. The burgers feature quality chicken marinated with a southern fried breadcrumb, so I just needed to add to that flavour.

I decided that there were 3 Steps to Burger Heaven so that's what I decided to call it. I grabbed my three ingredients which is all I needed for my quick but delicious snack.
  1. Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burger Twin Pack.
  2. BBQ Sauce (any brand).
  3. Halloumi Cheese (which I fried for 2 minutes).

The Burger only needs 1 minute 30 seconds in the microwave and then it's ready.

First I topped it with two fried pieces of Halloumi Cheese and then topped it with the lightly peppered Mayo which comes included in the pack. Doesn't it look goooood!

Next up came the BBQ Sauce. just a light trail is all that's needed. Just for that sweet touch.

And there we have it, my 3 Steps to Heaven Rustlers Burger!

Taking just 4 minutes to make in total, it was the perfect snack for me after my late shift at work. There was no messing around trying to cook up a big meal and, no mess to clean up afterwards either, just a single plate which was easy. Delicious and tasty for kids and grown ups alike. The kids like theirs a little simpler with added Tomato Ketchup or a sprinkling of Cheddar Cheese. The kids aren't really fans of my Halloumi Cheese but that's OK as that means more for me - yay! Rustlers provides an opportunity to get creative and have fun at the same time by adding toppings and sides of your choice to create a balanced meal.

I had lots of fun taking part in this challenge. It gave us a great opportunity to play with our food which I was always taught not to do but this was a one of, I promise. If you love your Rustlers burgers, you should have a go at creating your own burger masterpiece too.
