Mums mean the world to the Birmingham Bullring!

Mums mean the world to the Birmingham Bullring!

Mother's Day may be next Sunday (Sunday March 6th) but that didn't stop us enjoying a family day at the Birmingham Bullring this weekend. We were invited along to the Bullring in Birmingham to see just how much Mums mean to them. My children and Daddy were set a lovely challenge to find me a the perfect Mother's Day gift within the shopping centre.

I left them alone for a short while so they could have a look around. Whilst they were busy shopping for the perfect gift, I chilled out in Krispy Kreme with a doughnut and drink, Krispy Kreme is my fave place to be ever so it had to be my relaxing place of choice (of course).

The Bullring has so many Mother's Day offers in centre. You really are spoilt for choice.

When I met back up with my little ones, I have to admit I was a little excited. They had 3 bags in their hands, a rather gorgeous one from Pandora, an exciting one from Hotel Chocolat and a large one from Clintons so I have a pretty good idea what they went for.

The Molton Browm bag and Thorntons bag were a little gift from the Bullring which was rather lovely of them. I was already starting to see just how much Mums meant to them.

Our trip to the Bullring wasn't all about shopping though as we were also treated to an amazing family lunch at their Wagamama. We'd never been before and will admit it was a little out of our usual 'comfort' zone but I am so glad that we went. Not only was the food amazing but the whole place was lovely. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the atmosphere was fantastic. Even though the restaurant was full of life with happy customers, our waited Darren was so great. He made time to make sure we were OK and offered to help us when needed. He showed the kids how to use their chopsticks and really engaged with them throughout our meal. Being newbies wasn't a problem as everyone there was just so helpful and friendly. The welcoming staff and relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable afternoon.

I was supposed to finish my trip with a makeover but sadly we ran out of time and had to head back before this but I didn't mind as I'd had such a lovely time anyway. I could quite easily spend a whole day in the Bullring, there's so many lovely shops and places to eat.

Mums really do mean the world to the Birmingham Bullring!

Disclosure: We were invited to enjoy a lunch and given a gift card to buy a gift in return for an honest review of our trip. All opinions expressed are 100% my own and honest.

Have you seen our new BillyOh Mad Dash 300 Bunny Playhouse? #Review

Have you seen our new BillyOh Mad Dash
 300 Bunny Playhouse?

Last week was half term but it was no ordinary half term for us here as the kids went away for a few days with their Granny visiting family. Whilst they were away we were busy building a surprise for when they returned. A few months back during a storm their plastic playhouse got broken when a pipe fell from the side of the house crashing through it's roof.

So whilst they were away, my Dad, a family friend and I spent two hours out in our back garden in the rain putting their surprise together. The surprise? A brand new 4x4 BillyOh Mad Dash  300 Bunny Playhouse from Garden Buildings Direct who are a lovely Nottingham based company. From start to finish the company itself has been so helpful. From the friendly delivery drivers who loaded our playhouse into our garden for me, to the the after care phone calls I have received this week checking everything was OK.

The Bunny Max Playhouse is the biggest playhouse in their range and features a traditional cottage style look that your little ones will just love and it fits well into any sized garden.

Everything comes flat packed so you do need to put it together yourself. It does recommend  that a minimum of two adults are required or in our case, three. Everything you need comes included, all the wood, windows, fittings and more. You will need your own tools, a good drill will definatley come in handy and save you lots of time. With the walls made with Tongue & Groove edges they're pretty easy to put together. You do get a set of paper instructions which are very detailed with pictures, diagrams and step by step guides to help you.

With three adults we took around two hours to put our playhouse together but it was raining quite badly so that may have slowed us down a little but we were desperate to get it all ready for when the kids returned. I was so excited to see their little faces light up.

On the day they came home I sent them out into the garden to put the recycling out. Waiting in the kitchen for their response I could hear them screaming, they were so excited! MY little man was over the moon, his very own house - he kept saying. He looked so happy.

He has let his big sister in since but he's still calling it his house. Even though the weather has still been typically cold and rainy, that hasn't stopped them from enjoying their new playhouse. They've not had a day away from it yet. Both Lily and Ryan can't wait for the Summer when they can play it all day long. They're always disappearing off out into it with their toys, I think I'm going to have to put a nice hard wearing carpet or rug in there for them.

Summer is going to be so nice this year now that the kids have a nice outdoors space of their own. A dry, Mummy free zone where they can play safely and have fun without me.

I would happily recommend Garden Buildings Direct for anyone looking to buy a playhouse, garden shed or even adult summer house as their products are lovely and their customer service is just fantastic. They really care about their customers and can't do enough.

Disclosure: We received our playhouse in return for an honest review.

Great Food, Great Company and Great Shoes!

Great Food, Great Company and Great Shoes!

Last Sunday I was invited along to a lovely Blogging lunch at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in Birmingham. It was being hosted by a company I'd not heard of before called Vionic Shoes. They promise shoes to make your feet feel great whilst looking good too so I had to go see them for myself. Their tagline is Walk, Move, Live!

The event itself was fantastic. Beautiful views, lovely company and great food. What's not too love? Not only did we learn all about Vionic Shoes and how they came to be but we also got to try some on and even take a pair or two home with us to enjoy at our own leisure.

Vionic Shoes are one of the leading global makers of consumer and medical footwear. Their Vasyli Medical products and innovation are at the core of the technology they bring to their consumer brand - Vionic. They offer sandals, shoes and slippers in streamlined silhouettes which feature their concealed podiatrist-designed technology. It's this is innovative FMT technology that helps reduce over-pronation, which can in turn improve foot function and relieve common associated pains such as plantar fasciitis (heel pain), knee pain and back pain. It is the only footwear recommended by both the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and renowned integrative medicine doctor, Andrew Weil, MD.

I loved their Venture Walker range. They're made of a lightweight durable mesh with man-made overlays that give the Venture walker a sporty look while promoting breathability and comfort for confidence with each step and they come in a choice of 7 cute colours so there's something suitable for everyone. Another great thing is they come in some half sizes too.

With Summer on it's way their Islander II Toe Post Sandals are going to be perfect for beach walks or holiday strolls. We're off to Lanzarote in March so I can't wait to wear these. They have a Podiatrist-designed, biomechanical Tri-planar Motion Control footbed with a deep heel cup helps stabilize, support and realign the feet back to their natural position. They do feel a little odd when you first try them on but that's because my feet are not used to ebing in the 'correct' position but I've been reassured that they will feel comfortable real soon.

These come in a choice of 10 colours, I'm boring and went for black but you could choose a much brighter colour if you prefer. Their Coral Snake pair are gorgeous, bright and cute!

I'm so glad that I got introduced to Vionic Shoes and I'm very much so looking forward to wearing them from now on. I have my Venture Walkers for going out and about and my Islander II Toe Post Sandals for Summer which I'm very happy with. I can't wait to start feeling the benefits from them and hopefully reducing any future foot related problems.

If you're thinking about buying a pair of Vionic Shoes, I have a lovely 30% Off Code you can use to save some money on your purchase. Simply enter VIONIC30 at the checkout.

Thank you Vionic Shoes for a wonderful Sunday Lunch and a lovely time.

Disclosure: I was invited to the event to learn about Vioinc Shoes and given a goody bag containing my shoes for free but was in no way expected to write a review for them.

There's a Brand New Magazine in Town. The LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS is released tomorrow!

There's a Brand New Magazine in Town.
The LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS is released tomorrow!

Something exciting is coming for all LEGO fans. There's a brand new magazine hitting the shops from tomorrow - 24th February, 2016 and we can't wait. The LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS magazine is aimed at children aged between 6 and 11 years old. It's perfect for LEGO fans.

Every NEXO KNIGHTS magazine comes with a free LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS toy, issue one comes with a Lance Minifigure. Each magazine is packed full with news, comics, NEXO KNIGHTS hero facts, puzzles, posters, competitions, colouring and more. It will be on sale in shops from tomorrow and then every 4 weeks from then on costing £3.25 per magazine.

My little man Ryan was so excited when this arrived this week. He's a huge LEGO fan although we don't have that much of it yet seeing as he's still quite young and new to it. The Lance Minifigure was a huge hit, he built it all by himself and has been carrying it around with him since. His big sister Lily gets the LEGO Friends magazine which comes with a free toy to build with every issue too so he's excited to have a boys version for himself to build monthly and collect too. He's already eagerly awaiting next months issue, bless him.

The NEXO KNIGHTS magazine is not only great for LEGO fans but for all Knights fans too.

If you're little ones like LEGO or NEXO KNIGHTS then watch out for this tomorrow.

Disclosure: We received our magazine in return for an honest review.

This week I'm sharing the Childs Farm love.

This week I'm sharing the Childs Farm love.

We've been Childs Farm fans for months as they're products not only smell great and work well but they're also great for using on children with sensitive or eczema prone skin too.

My eldest and youngest both suffer with eczema so bath times used to be pretty dull and boring for us but that was until we found Childs Farm who changed everything immediate.

Childs Farm is an award winning British brand that uses natural ‘free-from’ ingredients and essential oils to produce mild, kind and delicious smelling toiletries that care for the skin and hair of newborns, babies and children. Happy skin means happy kids, and parents too!

All young skin and hair is precious, and needs proactive care from specifically designed products. At Childs Farm, this is so important to them that they undergo clinical tests and user trials to certify that everything they make is dermatologically tested and approved. It's also paediatrician approved to make it suitable for newborns and upwards – including those with sensitive and eczema-prone skin. The products are fantastic, we love them here.

This week I've been busy handing out lots of lovely sample sized bottles to mums in the school playground. I use Childs Farm in my house and love it so much that I'm happy to share my love for it with those around me knowing that if they try it, they'll love it too.

The lovely people at Childs Farm have given me an exclusive 30% Off discount code for my readers to use if they would like to try their products and make a purchase on their website. You simply visit and enter my code CFAMB26 at the checkout.

If you do buy something, why not pop back and let me know. My little man loves their Hair and body wash for dirty rascals whilst I love their 3 in 1 swim for hair-to-toe after swim care which is perfect for quick shower use at their weekly swimming lessons. What ever you decide to try, I'm sure you will love it, everything works so well and smells great too.

Qixels Turbo Dryer from Character Options Ltd #Review

Qixels Turbo Dryer from Character Options Ltd

First of all, I'm sure you're all wanting to know what Qixels are so I'll explain that first. Qixels are are the tiny cubes that fuse together to create all sorts of shapes and characters with simple a blast of water. There's lots of similar versions of these on the market at the moment but most seem to be aimed at girls so this one is great for the boys.

It's all really easy to do which is why it's aimed at children as young as 4. Although the cubes are quite small my little man managed to use them OK. He was able to create his own little rocket with the help of one of the templates which was included.

Inside the box you get the Turbo Dryer, two templates which have one design on each side giving you a total of four patterns to choose from in total. A whole selection of different coloured cubes. You get double the amount of white and black which was great as we did use more of those than any of the other colours. You also get a little plastic water spray and some extra pieces which you can add to your finished characters to help bring them to life.

Making the designs was really easy, you simply add the cubes onto a tray following your template or you can even make your own if you wish to. You then place your completed design into your Turbo Dryer and spray several times with water. Once soaked with water you get to spin them in the Turbo Dryer by rapidly pressing down the big button to dry them super fast! It says super fast, but it does take around 20 minutes for them to dry.

Ryan and I (Yes I had a go too) had great fun playing with this. It was a really nice little activity to do just the two of us. We sat at the dining table and had fun for over an hour just building little things with our Qixels cubes. Not only did we build a rocket but we made some cute Initials for all of us and a rather sweet little love heart too, that one's mine. We made one big pattern form the templates and 4 small pieces of our own and still had quite a lot fo cubes left over for us to build something else maybe at another time.

The tiny Qixels cubes were great for improving Ryan's hand, eye co-ordinations skills. He sat so calmly with this set, it was a lovely too see him enjoying himself and being so proud with his creations. He took his little rocket into school with him this morning to show it off.

We'd happily recommend the Qixels Turbo Dryer to any of our friends. It was easy to use, lots of fun and a great rainy day activity for all the family. Both girls and boys alike.

Wild Pets Scorpion - Stingback #Review

Wild Pets Scorpion - Stingback

This Wild Pets Scorpion features sensors that can make it act and behave just like a real scorpion. Which is pretty terrifying if you're afraid of creepy crawlies like me.

Using the touch sensor on the back, you can control the scorpion to it your pet or leave it alone to enter 'Cage Mode' which will make it move around quietly and calmly on its own.

One touch will put the scorpion in an exploitative Adventure Mode but if you press and hold the sensor look out as your spider will be in Attack Mode and will chase down any target!

With cool LED lights which will change colour depending on its current mode. Realistic shaped body and moveable legs, this is the creepiest, wildest pet that you can tame.

We've been playing with our very own Wild Pets Scorpion this week and have to say he's pretty cool. There are four different scorpions to choose from, we have the Stingback one. He has a simple on/off switch on the bottom for controlling it's power which is easy to see and use. The legs on this scorpion are quite soft and squidgy but boy do they move. When switched on the scorpion moves around at different speeds, in different directions and movements. He's very unpredictable which make him very exciting. With three modes of play, Explore, Creep and Attack. There's lots of fun and enjoyment to be had with him.

These new Wild Pets Scorpions are aimed at children aged five and over. My little man who is currently five loves him. There's nothing boring about this toy, he moves around, has LED lights and even glows in the dark. If you're little boy loves creepy crawlies then they'll love these. If you don't like scorpions, they have new spiders to collect too but I think the scorpion is more than scary enough for me. I know my Ryan would love one though.

Wild Pets Scorpion - Stingback gets a whopping 4/5 from us here. It's great fun and for it's price of just £12.99 we think it's well worth it. It gets a firm thumbs up from all of us.

Citroën to Unveil Mosaic made of Toy Cars in Birmingham Tomorrow.

Citroën to Unveil Mosaic made of Toy Cars
 in Birmingham Tomorrow.

A mosaic of a Citroën C4 Cactus, made of toy models of the Citroën range, will be unveiled in Birmingham’s Bull Ring shopping centre between 19 – 21 February.

Shoppers at the Birmingham Bull Ring centre this weekend will be able to claim a free miniature toy car and enter a draw to be in with the chance of winning a multitude of prizes, ranging from vouchers to a family trip to France. How awesome is that!

The mosaic installation pays homage to Citroën’s founder, André Citroën who, in the 1920s, began creating toy versions of his automobiles – which he named ‘dad’s car’ – for the children of his customers. The first such car to be turned into a toy was the Torpedo B2 10HP, of which more than 30,000 were purchased over a 10-year span.

Measuring 5m by 2.5m, the mosaic has been built in collaboration with final-year students from the University of Creative Arts in Surrey and will be joined at the Bull Ring shopping centre by a real Citroën C4 Cactus on display. It sounds great for all the car fans!

Those visiting the installation can walk away with one of the 2,677 toy cars that currently make up the mosaic. The toys are offered free of charge. By doing so, participants will be in with a chance of winning a number of prizes such as cinema tickets, vouchers and radios.

The grand prize is a family trip to France, which includes a day trip to Disneyland Paris and the opportunity to visit C_42, Citroen’s Brand Experience on the Champs-Élysées.

Shoppers will also have the chance to learn more about the Citroën C4 Cactus, which is best-known for for its innovative Airbump technology that protects the car from everyday bumps and scrapes. The car combines simplicity and efficiency with practicality and low ownership costs, equipping the Citroën C4 Cactus to take on the challenges of modern life.

You can watch the creation of the C4 Cactus mosaic below:

So if you're in Birmingham this weekend why not pop along to the Bull Ring Shopping Centre and pick up a free toy car and maybe even win yourself a lovely prize at the same time. I know where I'll be heading this weekend, my children would love this.

Disclosure: I choose to share this press release with you as it's local to us and though you might all like the chance to get a free toy car and maybe even win a bigger prize.

Barbie Spy Squad Secret Agent Doll #Review

Barbie Spy Squad Secret Agent Doll

In the brand-new film Barbie: Spy Squad, Barbie and her friends Teresa and Renee transform from hard-working gymnasts to undercover secret agents in this exciting, action-packed adventure! When their amazing gymnastics skills catch the eye of a top-secret spy agency, the girls are soon following clues to a gem-stealing cat burglar who has escaped everyone on the case. With their high-tech gadgets, glam disguises and cute robo-pets, can they prove that smarts and teamwork can get the mission accomplished?

Its girl power to the rescue! Secret Agent Barbie doll is ready for her mission with awesome moves -- flips and cartwheels -- and great style too. She looks super cool in a purple outfit with belt and boot details, a removable sparkly pink trench coat and pink shaded sunglasses. When it’s time to surprise, take off Barbie’s long coat and plug the included spy gadget into her back. Twist the signature-style spy gadget one way and roll it to see Barbie doll perform cartwheels; twist the other way and roll to go the other way too.

Lily, my 8 year old Barbie lover was so excited when she saw the recent TV advert for this doll on our screen. On TV she spins, twirls and flies through the air making her look super cool so I was interested to see how she'd match up to Lily's high expectations in reality.

The Barbie doll itself is beautiful, Lily loved her sparkling pink overcoat and purple outfit underneath. It's a really girly looking doll, perfect for girly girls like my Lily. Lily loves bright pinks and purples so this doll was instantly a hit with her. If it's pink, Lily loves it!

After playing with her Barbie Spy Squad Secret Agent Doll for a while Lily wasn't too impressed with the moves made by the spy gadget, I think she'd set her expectations quite high and was then expecting it to move in lots of different ways when really it only goes backwards or forwards. You can make the moves differ slightly by changing her arm positions or moving her legs or twisting her waist to position her differently. But no matter which way she is positioned she still only really does back flips or front flips. Lily got bored quite quickly with the spy gadget moves so took her off it completely.

She still loves her but prefers to play with her on her own. They still have fun spy solving adventures together without the spy gadget to make her move. Lily's been enjoying making her do her own moves without it. Even without it Babrie can still jump really high, run really fast, flip forwards and backwards and even fly (or at least that's what Lily told me).

Overall Lily loves her new Barbie Spy Squad Secret Agent Doll. The pinkness element won her over pretty quickly and the fact that she has a pink streak in her hair made her even cooler. Lily now wants a pink streak in her hair too but she'll have a wait a good few years before that happens. This Barbie doll is very pretty and dressed to impress. I like the fact that her purple spy outfit is actually painted on so she's never going to end up without any clothes which has happened to some of our other dolls when their clothes get lost. The doll has good jointed arms and legs which move quite a lot making her movements really good.

For the price (around £19.99) she's a pretty good buy. You can't get many toys for less than this nowadays anyway but I'd happily pay this for a Barbie doll of this standard. There's no little pieces or accessories to lose and the one outfit is permanent so that's a plus too. The face is very pretty and her hair is lovely too. Overall I'd give her a 3/5 for play value.

Disclosure: We received our doll as a sample in return for an honest review.

Poorly Children, Big Choices + Bribery! That's Just This Week . . .

Poorly Children, Big Choices + Bribery!
That's Just This Week. . .

This past week has been filled with all sorts. There's been almighty highs and lows, screams and tears but also hugs and kisses too. It's been one heck of an emotional roller coaster.

My little man has had a tough week suffering with an ear infection but he's been so brave, he's hardly moaned at all. He's not really a complainer although we did see several tears outbursts throughout the week when it all got too much for him. A trip to the local Walk In Centre with a two hour wait and a course of antibiotics later - I started to see a happy boy again although he did try to milk it for as long as he possibly could. He's a clever little man who realised that his teacher was bribing him with 'dojo' points (which is what they get for being good in his class) if he went into school nicely and took his medicine when he needed it. He would have done these things anyway but once he'd realised he could get something out of it, my mornings suddenly became hard work. He'd be fine then play up once his teacher was looking, waiting until they'd make him the offer, he does make me laugh!

It's been a week of big choices for my eldest daughter as it's Options Time at school. It's nothing like it was when I made my Options at school but that was a very long time ago. It's not just GCSE's now but they've added lots of other equivalent graded courses too. Being the 13 year old girl that she is, she tried to opt for all the 'easy' courses but I soon put a stop to that. We had to sit down and have a long talk about her future and where it could go. After lots of discussions, moans and tuts, I think we finally came to an agreement. I may be tough but deep down, I only want what's best for her and these Options choices are a big deal. So she won't be doing Art, Textiles and Creative Crafts but instead she will be doing History, Business Studies and Creative Crafts (<< This one I had to give in on something).

Last but not least is my middle daughter Lily. I'm pleased to say Lily is doing just fine, better than fine. She's been doing really well at school lately and loves to read and write just like her Mummy (which makes me very proud). She's always tucked up in bed with her kindle at bedtime and enjoys writing creative stories which she often shares with us at home. I'm very proud of all three of my children in very different ways. They're all beautiful inside and out!

So, our week has been filled with poorly children, big choices and bribery.

How's your week been?

Say Goodbye To Cartridges with Epson's New Eco Tank ET-2500 Printer #Review

Say Goodbye To Cartridges with Epson's New
Eco Tank ET-2500 Printer

Epson's new Eco Tank ET-2500 is the ideal choice for any busy household looking to print at an ultra-low cost, this 3-in-1 inkjet printer comes with two years of ink included.

With no fuss, no surprises, printing costs are reduced by 70% on average. Epson's Eco Tank printers are the perfect choice for any busy household after the ultimate economical printer. A 3-in-1 inkjet with print, copy and scan features, the ET-2500 couldn't be easier to maintain, with two years' worth of ink included in the box. It's perfect for a family like mine.

I like to scan and copy a lot, as being organised doesn't come easily without those functions. Whether it's copying important documents of scanning pictures for multiple copies, the Epson Eco Tank ET-2500 got the job done easily with no fuss.

Imagine not having to think about ink for two whole years. As well as doing away with ink cartridges, the ET-2500 has four colour 70ml Epson genuine ink bottles in the box, which make it easy, clean and quick to fill the ink tanks. The included ink bottles can print up to 4,000 pages in black and 6,500 pages in colour at just a fraction of a penny per page.

With three children like mine who are always asking for printouts to colour in, this printer is so right for us. Often in the past, we'd go through so many ink cartridge,s way too fast and we'd often end up with none as I just couldn't get more (mainly because of the costs).

Equipped with Wi-Fi, the ET-2500 can take advantage of Epson Connect features. You can print quickly and easily over Wi-Fi from a smartphone using the free Epson iPrint app. You can also print remotely or through emails to the ET-2500.  You can print from anywhere.

We've been using our Epson Eco Tank ET-2500 for the past 2 weeks and have to say,it's pretty good. The initial set up took me around 40 minutes but that included setting it up, connecting it to my computer and filling up all the ink pots ready for use which wasn't as hard as I thought it would have been. The overall set up was quite easy and went well.

Once set up, the printer worked really well for us. We were able to print off lots of character colouring sheets using our laptop which made for three really happy children. I've used the copier and scanner a few times and have to say everything was so easy to do.

I've been really pleased with it's performance. It's a nice sized 3 in 1 printer which fits nicely on my living room shelf. It's plain black so it fits in discreetly and doesn't take up too much space. I think the best part of all for me is being able to relax and not have to worry about the ink running by because the children have printed too much. Knowing that the ink is going to last so much longer, they can print away to their hearts content or at least until they have enough to stop them saying 'I'm Bored' which happens quite a lot here.

Now that we have our Epson Eco Tank ET-2500 they won't be saying that on my watch again. With two years worth of ink and a nice supply of paper for them, there's no excuse.

Disclosure: We received our Printer sample in return for an honest review.
