Need a Bacon Butty Guide this Fathers Day?

Need a Bacon Butty Guide this Fathers Day?

Sunday is Father’s Day so Roberts Bakery have decided to bring out Dad’s soft and fluffy side. They've 'The Father’s Day Bacon Butty Challenge!' We've been joining in here on the run up to the big day but you can also join in the fun over on their Facebook page.

We took one delivery of Soft and Fluffy bread, a serving tray, tea bags and a Tesco gift card and turned it into the perfect yet simple, Fathers Day breakfast fit for a king.

Daddy likes the simple things in life so his Bacon Butty will consist of Smoked Bacon and HP sauce in between two pieces of buttered Soft and Fluffy Roberts Bakery white bread.

We've not made our sandwich yet as we're waiting to surprise him on his big day but we already know that it's going to be perfect and he's going to love it.

Our Bacon Butty may be a bit boring but it's perfect to us, just the way it is. As they say, 'If It isn't broken, don't fix it!' You can't beat a classic bacon butty with lashing of HP sauce.

Whatever you're serving up for breakfast this Fathers Day, we wish you a good one.

Drumond Park ~ Dino Bite #Review

Drumond Park ~ Dino Bite

Dino Bite from Drumond Park is a  brilliant monster action game for children of all ages. It's bursting with fearsome, spine-tingling fun and scary jungle noises! It's Roaringly good fun!

Dino Bite is a really thrilling game for 2-4 players aged 4+ which sees them taking on the King of the Dinosaurs as they carefully try to pluck out the Dino Babies from right under his ferocious jaws. But they must beware … as with one wrong move, the Dino will roar out loud and lunge forward to try and stop them. Will he scare them away from his prize.

He sure scared me when I was playing. I love games like this as the suspense and thrill of not knowing whether he is going to pounce on you or not never gets boring. It's one of those games that you'll never get tired of as the thrill of the game is just so much fun.

It's easy to set up, you simply click the dinosaur into place and it's ready to go. Each player takes it in turn to rescue an egg from the Dino nest with the tweezers supplied.  They roll a coloured dice  to find out what colour they are need to aim for or whether they've been unlucky and have to miss a go. Then it’s a case of gently, quietly does it… as they carefully lift the edge of the leaf, steadily move their tweezers into the nest, grab the baby and lift it out to safety!  It can be a bit fiddly so it’s fine for younger players to use their fingers instead of the tweezers, if they like. But they must beware, because if that bad-tempered old Dino knows they're there, he will roar out loud and lunge terrifyingly towards them, stopping them  in their tracks. And that means the player is OUT of the game. Oh No.

This thrilling new game will provide hours of spine-tingling fun and laughter, and makes as  an unbeatable gift. It's ideal for all the dinosaur fans out there, young or old, boys or girls. It's suitable for all. It's a great family game as everyone can enjoy the excitement together!

Disclosure: We received our game sample in return for an honest review.

Yummy Nummies - Pizzas & Cookies #Review

Yummy Nummies - Pizzas & Cookies

The biggest International toy food craze has arrived with Character and is set to open up a whole new food phenomenon for 2015. Yummy Nummies is a fun way for children to make their very own miniature treats that look and taste just like the real thing using pre mixed sachets of ingredients and water. Kids can make both sweet and savoury treats which contain 100% natural ingredients. Yummy Nummies is lots of fun and yummy too.

Over the past week or so we've been trying out the Yummy Nummies Cookie Creations and Pizza Party Maker sets to see what all the fuss is about. Before actually doing them I have to admit that I wasn't sure if I would like them or not but I'm happy that I gave them a try.

First of all we tried the Yummy Nummies Pizza Party Maker:

Above is everything that's inside the box, there's everything you need to make your yummy pizzas. The only thing not shown is the water that you'll need to add to your mixtures.

By following the very easy step by step instructions you get from this ..

To these ...

You can make 4 little pizzas at any one time and I have to say I'm pretty impressed at how they turned out for a first attempt. They look like pizzas, they taste like pizzas, they are Yummy Nummies fun treat sized pizzas! We must remember that they're not a meal, they're just fun food for the kids to make and eat. It's all a bit of fun, which indeed we had.

Up next we had a go at the Cookie Creations for dessert.

Again, everything you need (except for the water) is show above and included in the box.

We went from this ..

To these ...

The Yummy Nummies Cookies were delicious. Chocolate chip cookies have never been so fun and easy to make and the end results tasted really good. We all loved these ones.

It's been fun trying out our Yummy Nummies sets. I can honest say that I will be watching out to see what they bring out next although I already have my eye on their doughnuts.

At what age does the Tooth Fairy stop visiting?

At what age does the Tooth Fairy stop visiting?

At what age does the Tooth Fairy stop visiting? When does your child stop getting money from the Tooth Fairy? There doesn't seem to be any 'right' answer out there.

I have three children, aged 4, 8 and 12 but the Tooth Fairy only still comes to the youngest two. I bet you're all now thinking that I'm a Mean Mummy and how could I do such a thing?  But surely there has to be some sort of cut off point or else a Mummy's going to run out of money. I mean at £1 a tooth, which seem to be dropping out every few weeks between the three of them lately. This Mummy is struggling to keep up with the Tooth Fairy demands.

My eldest who's 12 doesn't exactly believe in the Tooth Fairy anymore anyway, she's already made that fact pretty clear so why should she still be putting her hand out for money every time a tooth comes out? If they don't believe then surely the magic is gone and there's no need to carry on the pretense? My youngest two still believe so the eldest plays along for their sake but in our house all three of my children know that the Tooth Fairy stops coming when you turn 12 as she just can't possibly visit all of the children in the world all of the time.

In my own head this made complete sense but now that I've put it down on paper, I'm feeling a bit like the bad guy. Does anyone else have a cut off point in their household?

I'm all for make believe and believing in the magic of the Tooth Fairy and Father Christmas but surely there has to be a sensible end at some point in their lives. For us here, it is at the age of 12 as that was the age when my eldest stopped believing and just wanted the money. It kind of took the fun out of it and made it feel greedy rather than magical.

I'd love to know what the Tooth Fairy Rules are in your house?

At what age does the Tooth Fairy stop visiting?

I Heart Wines - I Heart Pinot Grigio #Review

I Heart Wines - I Heart Pinot Grigio

I heart is an exciting new range of great quality, fruit-driven wines in stand-out, innovative and iconic packaging. The wines are ‘true to varietal’ in style so if you love a Pinot Grigio then you will love I heart Pinot Grigio. A fresh, crisp, dry white with delicate citrus aromas and lemon and lime flavours, with great balance and freshness on the palate.

It's always best serve chilled.  It's a great match for grilled white fish, seafood salads, chicken dishes or simply on its own. I heart Pinot Grigio is light & crisp:

Vintage: 2013
Wine of Hungary
Alcohol: 11.5%

I'm usually a Rose drinker but I do like the occasional glass of white. The I Heart Pinot Grigio is light and refreshing to drink. It's quite a dry wine which I wouldn't normally go for but I quite enjoyed a nice cold glass of it at the end of a long, hot summers day.

I Heart also do miniature bottles which are ideal for when you don't want to open a whole bottle. I often go for the smaller bottles as I just like one glass and hate wasting a big bottle.
If you don't fancy a Pinot Grigio, there's lots of other wines in their range too.

I enjoyed my glass of I Heart Pinot Grigio but next time I think I'll go for a Rose.

Party with The Minions ... The Dazzle Minions Party Pack #Review

Party with The Minions ...
The Dazzle Minions Party Pack

There once was a company called Dazzle who made party dreams come true.
They laid our table with Minions and made the kids laugh all day through!
They brightened up our home on the most important day of the year.
Their Minions Party Pack goodies received a huge happy childs cheer.

The Dazzle Minions Party pack has enough goodies to serve 8 children. There's a table cover and a plate, napkin and cup for each child. The designs are nice and bright, they really catch your eye and brighten up even the dullest of rooms. The little minion characters are so funny, they're all doing silly things which the children thought was great.

I was going to save our party pack for my youngests next birthday party but we were too excited and decided to use them early for a family picnic in the garden which means we may have to get ourselves another pack now as the kids loved these ones so much.

Although the plates and cups are made of paper they're a nice quality so they can be reused if they're not too dirty as they simply wipe clean with a damp cloth. There's no thin paper or spillage with them. Just nice strong, sturdy cups and plates which are great.

If you're little ones love the Minions like mine do then they will love partying with them at their party. The bright colours and cute character designs make for a really nice pack.

We loved our Minions party pack but there are lots of other packs to choose from at Dazzle.

Disclosure: We received our party pack sample in return for an honest review.

The Minions are taking Over .. Our House & Garden that is. #Review

The Minions are taking Over ..
Our House & Garden that is.

The Minions are taking over and we're loving it. We love the Minions and really can't get enough of them at the moment, well what's not to love? They're cute and funny and totally crazy. Although we love the Minions we don't love the big prices that come attached to most of the merchandise that comes with them but that changed this week.

We found out that Poundworld has a whole range of Minion Merchandise starting at just £1. There's lots of fun kitchen items like plastic plates, bowls and drinking bottles. There's even Minions kitchen roll which is mega cute. There's lots of useful stationery items perfect for school like pens, felt tips and note pads. There's random things like stickers and car air fresheners, mugs and tissues and you'll be glad to hear that there's sweets and chocolates too. There really is something for everyone, all my little Minion fans are happy.

There's some bigger Minions items online on their Poundworld Plus which will cost you more than £1 but the prices are still much lower than most of the other shops. There's toys and games, lunch boxes and pop up tents. We fell in love with their Minions Patio Set which is just adorable. It's a cute little table and chairs set complete with sun parasol.

My little Minion fans are delighted with their Minions goodies. Who knew you could get so much for just £1. I must pop into our local store to pick up some more bits and piece soon.

Disclosure: We received samples in return for an honest review. All the opinions expressed are completely honest and 100% my own.

And So our Adventures as Drayton Manor Ambassadors begins... #DaysOut #FamilyFun #DraytonManor

And So our Adventures as Drayton Manor
Ambassadors begins...

A few weeks ago I was so excited to announce that we had been chosen as Drayton Manor Ambassadors and this weekend, we made it all official. A trip to Drayton Manor Park is always something that we look forward too but this time was very different  for us as we got to pick up a Season Pass Plus for each. Our passes not only give us unlimited access to the park for the rest of the year but it also gets us 20% off all our food, drinks and merchandise.

Up until now every trip for us has been pretty much the same. All great days out (don't get me wrong) but all very similar in terms of what we would do and what rides we would go on. My children are aged 4, 8 and 12 but none of them would go on any of the 'bigger' rides as they were too scared but this weekend all of that changed and I'm proud to say I now have 3 fully fledged Adrenaline Junkies for children. My youngest, Ryan rode the Ben 10 Roller Coaster for the very first time and loved it! Lily (my 8 year old) rode the Apocalypse with her Daddy - YES the Apocalypse and Chloe my eldest rode the G-Force Roller Coaster with myself without freaking out. I'm happy to say that I am one proud Mummy right now.

This visit was truly surreal for me as I watched my once terrified of big rides children now enjoying themselves on some of the biggest, most scariest in the park and loving them.

Another huge first for all of us this time, well except Ryan who wasn't tall enough to ride,  went on the Air Race ride for the very first time. Before now the idea of this one had scared me a little but when my 8 year old insisted on having a go, I really couldn't let the team down. My girls loved it so much that they rode it three time in a row as the queues were so small towards the end of the day. Once was enough for me, I'm still not quite as brave as them just yet but we all loved it. The girls would have gone on more times but sadly we ran out of time. Whilst the girls and Daddy rode their favourite ride, Ryan and I headed back into Thomas Land for Ryan's final ride. He chose Winston's Whistle-Stop which he adores.

More firsts for our family included a whirl on The Big Wheel and a turn on The Buffalo. Both of which we've never been on before. Most of our time is usual spent within Thomas Land and then divided between the Zoo and the Thomas Playground but not this time. This time felt so different for us as we got to enjoy lots of the bigger rides and enjoy so many new things. I never know where all the time goes when we visit Drayton Manor but it sure does fly by. Arriving at 10:30am and leaving just after the last rides had closed at 6pm we really did get a whole days worth of fun for all but then again we always do.

I wasn't planning on blogging about this trip but after the day it turned out to be, I just had to. The trip I had planned out in my mind had turned out to be so much better than I could ever have hoped for. I no longer have 3 nervous children scared to try new things.

Like I said, I couldn't be prouder of them right now. They're much braver at their ages than I was, that's for sure but after seeing how much fun they were having. I wouldn't change them for the world. They're growing up so quickly and evolving into wonderful young adults.

After this wonderful trip we're now already looking forward to our next.

I wonder what rides we will enjoy next time...

Until then Ryan and Gordon wave goodbye to Drayton Manor  ... See you soon.
