Tom & Jerry Tricky Trap House #Review

Tom & Jerry Tricky Trap House

Tom & Jerrys Tricky Trap House from Flair is a crazy house with lots of mechanical traps including the cartoon staples of the falling piano, fake floors and a burst-through wall.
It costs around £27.99 and comes complete with two Tom and Jerry figures.

I used to love watching Tom & Jerry on the TV when I was little so I've always encouraged my children to watch it too. My youngest two, Lily and Ryan love it. They were very excited when the Tom & Jerry Tricky Trap House arrived last week. It;s a crazy toy perfect for my two crazy children. There's lots of little tricks and traps dotted around all over the house, from broken swing panels to trap doors and so much more.

There's a safe that bursts open at the touch of a button. A piano that falls over when played and a moving sofa. Ryan's favourite part is the roof rocket which is big enough to fit Jerry inside before it blasts off into space, or across the living room in our case.

The Tom & Jerry Tricky Trap House is lots of fun to play with. There's lots of little adventures to be enjoyed with it so we scored it a fun filled 3/5. If your kids love Tom & Jerry or just love toys that are full of traps and tricks the this could be one for you.

Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue Playset #Review

Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue Playset

The Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue Playset from Character is the perfect addition to any childs Fireman Sam collection. Why not help Fireman Sam with his 'Ocean Rescues' on the fantastic Ocean Rescue Centre. You can literally fire Juno (at the press of a button) with the Jet Ski Launcher, there's also a Helipad with cool light and sound features. There's a  working lift, fireman pole plus much more - you'll have lots of action-packed hours of fun!

It's aimed at children aged 3+ and costs around £34.99.

My little man Ryan is a huge Fireman Sam fan so he was delighted when this arrived last week, his little face lit up with excitement. He's already got the Fireman Sam Vehicle and Accessory Set - Titan but he was really pleased when he saw he had a whole centre to play with. Now Fireman Sam can go on some real sea adventures.

The toy itself is one whole piece so there's no assembly required. You can take it straight out of the box and play with it. You do have to add batteries if you want the lights and sounds features to work though as they're not included.

There's lots of little things that Fireman Sam can do like going down the Firemans Pole and Jetting off on his Jet Ski from the launch pad which is lots of fun. When you press the button the Jet Ski fires off into the ocean. There's a working lift, a flashing Helipad and lots of other little places to stand on, sit in or visit. Ryan's been having lots of fun.

Ryan's favourite feature has got to be the Jet Ski launch pad. He just loves pressing that button and watching the Jet Ski fly off across the carpet and often poor Fireman Sam flying through the air as he wasn't holding on tight enough. He hasn't quite mastered how to connect the Jet Ski to the button yet though which means I am having to do it. I'm hoping he will figure out how to do it himself real soon so I can have a break.

It's not only Ryan who has been having fun with the Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue Playset, his big sister Lily has also been joining in. Even though she's 7 and doesn't really like Fireman Sam, she's still been fascinated with some of the functions.

Overall it seems well built and looks like fun to play with. I like the fact that it's one whole piece so that it won't be falling apart anytime soon. Ryan is happily playing with his Jet Ski launcher for now but I'm not sure if his poor Fireman Sam figure would agree.

We scored the Fireman Sam Ocean Rescue Playset a funtastic 3/5/

John Lewis appoints Little Panel - Check out our #Review

John Lewis appoints Little Panel
Check out our Review

John Lewis appoints a ‘Little Panel’ of child experts to help shape its Children’s Rooms homeware collection. On 2nd September 2014: John Lewis appointed a new set of product experts to help it appeal to an even wider range of customers: a ‘Little Panel’ of six 6 and 7 year-olds who helped to shape the department store’s Children’s Rooms homeware range.

The panel, from East London’s  Maryland Primary School in Stratford, will name new product items as well as writing product descriptions which can be easily understood by children of the same age; a first for the retailer.

The initiative was launched at John Lewis’ Stratford department store, with the whole panel in attendance. On show is a duvet cover designed by the panelists, which will now go into production ahead of going on sale in September of this year. In addition, descriptions written by the panel will appear on product packaging and on John Lewis’ website from today. The children have also named four products, including “Mr Sharky” the Shark Bean Bag and “Tommy” the toy Monkey. Omar Kamran, aged 6, who named the Shark Bean Bag said, “I always go shopping with my mum and dad and now I am part of it as my opinions count.”

The initiative will be piloted at the John Lewis Stratford store. The new duvet cover designed by the children can be found online from September 2014.

This week my own 'little panel' of toy experts have been having a play with some of the new John Lewis Children’s Rooms homeware collection. We were sent two bean bags toys, a cute crab and a pretty parrot. An Owl night light and a set of cute animal wall stickers.

The bean bag toys were priced up at £10 each. They're both super bright, the colours and detailing really stands out and shows just what high quality they are. They're both super squishy which my younger two loved, they love a good toy to cuddle. Colin the Crab as he's now known is fast asleep on Ryan's bed whilst Polly Parrot is on Lily's. I think they're both very happy in their new homes, they get lots of cuddles every night and get to play lots of games every day. Although I'm not quite sure they like being thrown high up in the air.

They're great toys for being silly with as you can see from my pictures. They make great pillows to sleep on as they're squishy and soft enough to put under your head. They're fab for cuddling and also just sweet to look at. We loved them both very much.

The Owl nightlight is super cute and for the price of £20 he's also affordable. He can be plugged in and then sat on top of his charging base or taken off it to allow him to be moved anywhere you want. We've put ours on top of a radiator in the upstairs hallway to light up the way to the bathroom for those last minute bathroom trips. Ryan who's 4 is still learning to go to the toilet at night but we don't like to turn the main lights on as it wakes him up too much so a night light like this is just perfect for us right now.

The light itself is a colour changing one, it changes colour by itself every few seconds. The colours are great, there's a mixture of all the colours so it's suitable for both boys and girls. Ryan really likes his new Owl friend although he does turn himself off after a while which means Ryan is often poking him or moving him around to set him alight again.

All of the items were lovely, they're well made and well thought out. The bean bags were bright and eye catching whereas the Owl night light was sweet and practical. We haven't had a chance to try out our wall stickers just yet as Ryan is still sharing my room. One day when he gets his own room, I'm sure he will have fun using them.

Disclosure: We were sent our 'little panel' samples for the purpose of this review but that doesn't affect what we think. All the opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Soreen Halloween limited edition Lunchbox Loaves #Review

Soreen Halloween limited edition Lunchbox Loaves

Soreen have launched 2 brand new products, Halloween limited edition Lunchbox Loaves. They've dubbed them ‘Scream’ instead of ‘Soreen’.

They come in two new flavours – chocolate and toffee apple, and they're perfect for packed lunches, handbags, gym kits and trick-or-treaters as they're individually wrapped!

The Toffee Apple Scream Loaf is a spooktacular Toffee Apple malt loaf with the same squidgy Soreen texture that we all know and love, just with added gooeyness from terrifyingly tasty toffee pieces. Each individual bar contains just 100 calories which is perfect for an adult afternoon or late night treat as well as a snack for the kids.

The Chocolate Scream, Loaf is a wicked chocolate twist on everyone's favourite malt loaf, loaded with chocolate chips which is bound to get your taste buds screaming. Each individual loaf contains 105 calories which is well worth it for the taste.

I was sent a small sample of each of the new flavours to try, me being me, I just couldn't say no but I have this thing about putting butter on my Soreen once it's sliced up into small pieces so I thought why not try it with these two new flavours too. I tried each one without butter as well as with so I could see which way I liked best. With butter was definitely my favourite, you could still enjoy all the flavours of the loaf but with that extra added yumminess.
Of course if you add butter like I do, the calorie intake will rise.

Out of the two I have to say that I enjoyed the Chocolate one the best. The Toffee Apple was delicious but the Chocolate one just had that extra edge on flavour.

Which one do you think you'd like best?

Disclosure: I was sent a small sample for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed are 100% honest and all my own.

BABY born Doctor Interactive Medical Laptop #Review

BABY Born Doctor Interactive Medical Laptop

The BABY born Doctor Interactive Medical Laptop is the perfect accompaniment   accompany your BABY Born doctor doll. If you don't have one yet, be sure to check out our Review, we loved ours and would happily recommend it.

This cute BABY Born purple laptop comes with loads of medical accessories so you can diagnose and prescribe the correct treatments for your poorly dolls. With an x-ray scanner and x-ray charts your BABY Born doll will be healthy in no time. It costs around £29.99. The Doll is sold separately but both are recommended for ages 3 years and over.

The BABY Born Interactive Medical Laptop is a play computer with lots of functions and interactive sounds and light effects. It includes a scanner, x-ray boards, medicine bottle and spoon, fever thermometer, pills and pill box, hot water bottle, syringe, bandages, plasters and mobile phone (all plastic/play versions). You get lots for your money.

Lily was sent her very own BABY Born Interactive Medical Laptop to play with last week. She's been very spoilt over the past few weeks but luckily she's been very good at school so I've been happy to give them to her as a well earned treat.

The Laptop is a good size, it's not too big that it's too bulky or heavy for her little arms but it's not too small that she can't see what she wants to do. The buttons are all a good size and everything is made simple and very easy to use and play with.

The Laptop is mainly pink and purple with a few other colours too which Lily loves. It's so girly, it's every little girls come true. Who doesn't want to be a Doctor with their very own Doctors kit and Medical Laptop?? I know I'm a little bit older) but I do.

Lily had so much fun playing with this, it's great for getting their imaginations going. It's the starting point of every little Doctors adventure. When it's not being played with it folds down flat for easy storage or easy portability so it can be carried around with them. I've been x rayed and scanned, poked and prodded along with every other one of Doctor Lily's toys in her room. She's definitely enjoying her new Doctor toys.

I can imagine this BABY Born Doctor Interactive Medical Laptop is going to be on lots of little girls Christmas lists this year along with the BABY Born Doctor Interactive Doll itself. Both of them are very cute and lots of fun separately as well as together.

Disclosure: We were sent a Laptop sample for the purpose of this review but all the opinions expressed are 100% honest and all my own.

BABY Born Interactive Doctor Doll #Review

 BABY Born Interactive Doctor Doll

The BABY Born Interactive Doctor Doll from Zapf Creations is a beautiful 43cm posable doll dressed in a doctors uniform with medical coat, trousers, shoes and stethoscope headband. BABY born Interactive has 8 lifelike functions, includes 10 accessories and needs no batteries at all. Her functions include drinking & wetting, using her potty, crying, opening/closing her eyes, feeding and being fully bathable. She retails at around £44.99 which is the average price for an Interactive Baby Born doll in most toy shops.

Last week Lily was sent her very own BABY Born Interactive Doctor Doll to review. Her little face lit up with excitement when she saw it. Lily who's 7 is not a huge fan of dolls as she gets bored with them really easily. I find with Lily that a doll on it's own won't hold her attention for long but a doll with a theme and accessories will keep her happy for hours.

Baby Born as a dedicated young doctor brings along plenty of cute accessories: not just her  usual nappy, dummy, potty etc., but also the classic doctor's white coat, perfectly fitting leggings and comfortable shoes for long days at the surgery. The first consultation hours can begin right away but when she slips off her white coat at the end of a tiring day, she likes to just be a little girl again and enjoy your love and affection.

Lily loves playing Doctors, it's one of her favourite games at the moment so the BABY Born Interactive Doctor Doll was welcomed into her games with open arms.

All of the accessories are lovely, Lily loved the white coat and medical headband. She loved feeding her her bottle and putting her on her potty to go 'wee wee'. Lily adored the pretty little friendship bracelet and absolutely loved the pretty doll. The BABY Born Interactive Doctor Doll has a really pretty face, she's such a sweet little thing.

She's got bright blue eyes and gorgeous long eyelashes. Perfect pouting lips and little rosey cheeks. I've had the odd cuddle or two myself when Lilys not been around.

I think the BABY Born Interactive Doctor Doll is perfect for all young wannabe doctors, baby doll lovers and all those little mums in training. It's a delightful doll with so many functions and accessories. She'll never run out of fun as she doesn't need batteries and she'll never be left on a shelf as she's just too pretty for that. Both Lily and I love her, she's adorable and so much fun to play with. There's no sick dolls/teddies in our house anymore!

Disclosure: We were sent a sample doll for the purpose of this review but all of the opinions expressed are 100% honest and my own.

My #CBB 2014 Final Experience.

My CBB 2014 Final Experience.

On Friday the 12th September 2014 I finally got to fulfill my long time Big Brother dream and visit the house. Yes, I was there at the Celebrity Big Brother Final.

I was lucky enough to win a competition from the sponsors of Big Brother 'Super Casino' giving me access to their Channel 5 Hospitality Bar and entrance to the Live audience. For me it was a dream come true, getting to watch the show was amazing and I loved every minute. I brought a good friend with me, who just happened to be a good friend of one of the CBB contestants who was still in the house. We were both very excited to be there to welcome her out when her time came, she came a whopping 5th. We were so proud!

In the bar we got to sit in an old Big Brother chair and enjoy free drinks from the bar as well as some delicious canapes too. We had a lovely hour or so in there before we were escorted out onto the set for the show. I was expecting to be down with the audience but instead we were up in the stands, standing right across from the Big Brother door. We had such an amazing view from up there, the whole show was just spectacular.

The show was very loud but also very surreal to watch. We cheered and screamed and booed and clapped. It was an emotional two hours. The show ended with an out of this world fireworks display which shot into the air right above our heads. As the audience below us were showered with pretty gold glittery bits of foil we found ourselves being showered with cardboard fireworks leftovers which was a bit scary but worth it. We wasn't allowed to take any pictures on the set which was a bit disappointing but completely understandable and it wasn't just us who that rule applied to, the celebrities sitting opposite us on the red row were told the exactly same. I am so glad that I got to go, I had an amazing time!

As we were being escorted back to our bar there was a bit of confusion and we ended up outside the 'Friends and Family' Bar which for us turned out to be the best part of our night. Right across from where we standing stood Dee being interviewed. My friend I was with ran across to see her and when Dee saw who she was she was screaming and crying (happy tears of course) and hugging her so tight. She was so happy to see her friend. It was a very emotional moment to watch but I was so happy for both of them. Dee was being rushed off into another room but she insisted that we were to join her and her family in their bar. The team fetched us some new wrist bands which allowed us access to the room.

We entered the 'Celebrity' Bar at around 11.15pm and waited for the celebrities to pour in. For the first hour I stood there in complete awe of what was happening around me. There was me, a completely normal person surrounded by all these famous faces. When Dee arrived at the bar she was so lovely, everyone was so happy to see her. They sure did love their 'Momma Dee' it was very clear to see that and thanks to her kindness I had the most amazing night of my life. I couldn't thank her enough, what a lovely lady.

The next few hours went by in a quick blur of laughter, jokes and tears of happiness. Everyone was so welcoming and so lovely, I couldn't have hoped for a better night! I had my picture taken with almost everyone, they didn't mind at all.

Who could have possibly known that our trip to the Celebrity Big Brother 2014 Final would turn out like this. I got to chat to people who I wouldn't have otherwise met in my wildest dreams. I got to hear conversations that even I couldn't have made up. I took lots more photos but they're for my private viewing only as I'd like to respect their privacy.

If you ever get a chance to go to the CBB Final, you should go! It's an amazing experience and for me and my friend, it will definitely be one that we will never forget!

My daughters are so excited about the Shopkins range, They're already asking me for more. My eldest daughter Chloe who's 11 and now at Secondary School was ranting about how all her friends are collecting them and she wants to start too. She's already been checking her list for which ones she wants next whilst marking off the ones she now has.

My youngest daughter Lily who's 7 is so happy to have her very own Shopkins Supermarket Playset, she's been jumping up and down with excitement for days. She's not too happy about the fact she has to share it with her big sister but she'll get used to it.

The Supermarket Playset will cost you £24.99 but you'll have to keep an eye on their website for when new stock comes in as they're currently sold out. The new Shopkins range are proving to be very popular already. I can see these being on a lot of Christmas Lists this year. I know both my girls are now saving their pocket money to collect more of the smaller packs and talking of smaller packs, there's a 5 Pack available to buy too.

The Shopkins 5 Pack will cost you £5.99. There's also a 2 Pack and a 12 Pack available. The Shopkins 5 pack contains 5 characters in total, 4 that you can see and 1 which is hidden so you get a nice surprise when you open it. You also get 5 shopping bags and a collectors guide too. Look out for the special rare characters because they could be hiding in your secret bag. We didn't get a rare one in ours but there's always next time!

The Shopkins have sure taken over our house this week, they're all I'm hearing about. My girls are so excited to have the Supermarket Playset and lots of new Shopkins friends to play with. I'm sure I'll be adding some more to their collection real soon.

The Shopkins are very cute and each has it's own little character name. Some of the names are so sweet, they're definitely a pleasure to play with and collect. Now that my girls are completely hooked on Shopkins they're a great bargaining tool for me. Everytime they are good or behave well they can have a new Shopkins pack as a reward.

The Shopkins Supermarket Playset and Shopkins 5 Pack have scored a fantastic 5/5 from us here at the Mummy Of 3 Diaries household. They're small and cute, colourful and fun. They're a great pocket money priced toy that the kids are going crazy for right now.

Disclosure: We were sent our Shopkins for the purpose of this review but that doesn't affect our review. All the opinions expressed are 100% honest and my own.

I've using my Slumberdown Big Value Bed Set for the past month and have to say I love it. It's a nice weighted duvet that still breathes allowing my body to stay at a nice temperature. I don't get cold under it ever and if I get too hot I simply poke my feet out the end for some air or take a bit of it off. The pillows are nice and fluffy, not too big but not too thin either. I like two pillows anyway so these were just about right for me.

I've been more than happy with my Slumberdown Big Value Bed Set and scored it a loving 4/5. I won't be swapping it for another anytime soon.

Green People Organic Children Berry Smoothie Shampoo/Conditioner #Review

Green People Organic Childrens Berry
Smoothie Shampoo/Conditioner

Over the past few weeks my younger two children Lily and Ryan have been testing out the Green People Organic Childrens Berry Smoothie Shampoo/Conditioner from a company called BigGreenSmile.Com who sell everything from  make-up and beauty products to natural cleaners and baby food. They're one of the biggest online retailers of natural and organic products within the UK so we had to give them a try.

The Green People Organic Children Berry Smoothie Shampoo is a fun, fruity children's shampoo for tangle-free tresses that's suitable for children who may be prone to eczema or psoriasis. It contains Plant proteins which give the hair essential nutrients and leave it feeling super soft. It's fruity Raspberry, Apple and Vanilla aroma smells good enough to eat but please don't as this is not edible. It costs £8.95 for a 200ml squeezy tube.

The Green People Organic Children Berry Smoothie Conditioner is a super fruity children's conditioner for silky soft hair which is also suitable for children who may be prone to eczema or psoriasis. It's a natural 'no-tangle' conditioner with smoothing Plant proteins and it's strengthening complex strengthens strands and promotes silkiness. AGain it costs £8.95 for a 200ml tube but a little does go a long way with these.

First off, I love the smell of these. They're very fruity but in a good way, there's no overpowering perfume smells just gentle fruity aromas which are lovely. Secondly they're nice and thick so you really do only need to use a little bit which means the tube will last for quite a long time. I've been using both the shampoo and conditioner on my youngest children who are are 7 and 4. Lily has got shoulder length hair which used to get really tangled at bath times but not no more. Her hair has been so much more manageable since using these products and it now has a lovely shine to it too. Ryan only has short hair so he's only been using a tiny bit of each but again his hair is looking lovely and he adores the smell so I'm happy to say that we've all really enjoyed trying them out.

The Green People Organic Children Berry Smoothie Shampoo/Conditioner may be a little pricey for children's products but if they work well then I'd be happy to pay it.

We scored them both a smellingly good 3/5. We will continue to use them as we like the results they produce and the way they work when in use.

Wild Science Kaleidoscope Studio #Review

Wild Science Kaleidoscope Studio

Have you looked through a kaleidoscope lately? It’s beautiful! You can now create your very own kaleidoscope with the Wild Science Kaleidoscope Studio from Interplay.  By simply following the the colour illustrated activity guide you can build your own optical wonder!

Peer through the eyepiece and simply twist your creation to discover the colourful patterns.

The Kaleidoscope Studio costs £12.99 and is aimed at children aged 8 years and over. My eldest daughter Chloe who's 11 had a go at making this last week. The set has some fiddly parts and some small bits also but overall it was nice and straight forward to do.

You get everything you will need to make your own Kaleidoscope inside the box. There's two different eye pieces you can look through which create different effects and there's also two different bead containers to create even more crazy colour combinations.

Chloe enjoyed making her Kaleidoscope but loves playing with it even more now that it's finished. She never knew she could make her own is so proud that she did. It's sets like these that make learning Science fun. It teaches them some tips and tricks for getting the most out of the things they learn in class. You're never too old to play with a Kaleidoscope. Chloe has been trying out different colour combinations and all sorts. I took picture of the two different bead pots that came with the set so you could see the outcomes.

This one used the small round pot of small beads placed directly at the end of the tube. It produced lots of colourful patterns but it was hard to capture them all for you.

This one used the longer pot of beads mixed with some bigger charm items. Instead of going at the top of the tube it went across. It produced slightly different patterns to the other ones but they were just as pretty. Who knew it could be so much fun.

The ends were easy to change so you could go back and forth between the two different ends depending on which bead pot you wanted to look through. Chloe had lots of fun playing with and will continue to do so for a while to come too.

Chloe and I scored this set a fun filled 3/5. It was easy to make and fun to play with.

The Kaleidoscope Studio is just one set out of a whole range of other weird and wonderful Wild Science kits. There's lots of other fun stuff to choose from.
