Tree Fu Tom Castle Playset #Review

Tree Fu Tom Castle Playset

Join Tom for some Tree Fu fun in his new Treetop castle. You can make Tom fly around as you twist the top of the castle. Use Tom to magically turn on the light up Seeking Crystal at the simple touch of a button and find where those mischievous Mushas have splatted the castle with secret splats! If you turn the page of the spell book you might need to watch out for the trap door! Tom can speed down the ramp on his leafboard ready to save the day. The Tree Fu Tom Castle Playset is aimed at children aged 3+ and costs £29.99. We were sent one to review this week and here's what we thought:

The playset is made up of a solid castle which I love as it's strong and solid making it harder to break. There are a few pieces that need adding on like the ramp and the roof top spinner but they're very easy to do. My little man has managed to break his ramp a few times during play but it's not a problem as you just slot it back together and put it back on. You only get one figure with this playset ( Tom ) so if you haven't got any other Tree Fu Tom character figures you might need to get some to go with this to make play time more fun. My little man is 3 so he's at the very bottom of the age scale this toy is aimed at but  he loves it and I'm really happy with it too.

Here's a picture collage of the Tree Fu Tom Castle Playset in action, my little man has been busy having lots of Tree Fu fun. I'm sure this set will be on lots of little Tree Fu Tom fans Christmas lists this year and after playing with it this week, I'd be happy to recommend it. It's a nice solid set that's pretty sturdy and really easy to put together. It's got some really nice features like the ramp, the trapdoor and the light up Seeking Crystal. With the help of a few more figures which luckily we already have, it's a great playset.

Here at Mummy of 3 Diaries, Ryan and I scored the Tree Fu Tom Castle Playset a well deserved 4/5 and gave it a firm thumbs up!

My Tesco Clubcard Boost Wish List! #MyXmasBoost

My Tesco Clubcard Boost Wish List

You can now exchange every £5 of your Clubcard vouchers into £10 of Boost tokens to spend at Tesco in selected departments. You simply exchange your vouchers into Boost tokens either in store or online at If you are exchanging vouchers for in store tokens, you need to first select the departments you wish to spend them in.

I created my Wish List using the Online Tesco Direct option so I could have a good old nosey from the comfort of my home. It's way too cold and windy out there for me to be going anywhere today so online shopping it is. It's like window shopping but much better!

My Xmas Boost Wishlist:

From the Clothing category I choose this gorgeous F&F True Twin Zip Hooded Parka for myself. At £35.00 It would only cost me £17.50 if I used my Boost Voucher.

From the Toys and Bikes category I choose the VTech Kidizoom Twist Camera - Plus Blue because my little man has been asking me for one of these for months. It's top of his Christmas list year and at a price of £39.97 I could get it for just £20 of Boost Vouchers.

From the Technology and Gaming category I choose the amazing Hudl 7” 16GB Wi-Fi Android Tablet Red as this just looks fabulous and I wouldn't mind giving it a try. At £120, that's just £60 with my Boost Vouchers , what an amazing saving!

From the Electricals category I choose a TomTom XXL Classic Series Sat Nav 5" Screen with UK and Ireland Maps because it's what my Father In Law has asked for this for Christmas after his old one stopped working last week. I could use just £40 of Boost Vouchers to pay the £30 costs. These savings are really fantastic, so many people are going to be able to make their Christmas so much better this year because of this!

Last but not least from the Skincare, Cosmetics & Fragrance category I choose Jean a bottle of sweet smelling Paul Gaultier Womens EDT Spray 50ml for me just because it's my favourite and my last bottle is almost empty. Again with the Boost Vouchers I could pay just £20 instead of the £38 price tag which is wonderful.

So there you have it, my top 5 items that make up My from Tesco Boost Vouchers Wish List.

There's so much to choose from and with so many fabulous savings just waiting to be made. what would you choose?

Trick or Treat with Sainsbury’s

Trick or Treat with Sainsbury’s

During this spooky season, Sainsbury’s have plenty of tricks and treats on offer to send shivers down your spine. From just 20p, you can host the perfect Halloween party dressed as a gruesome vampire or a wicked witch and decorate your place with creepy ghost decorations and light-up pumpkins. Go in-store or shop online for more terrifying Halloween treats!

Last week we had an amazing delivery from the lovely people at Sainsbury's who sent us some spooktastic Halloween treats for our Halloween party that we are having this year. There was a costume for each of the kids, lots of yummy treats, party decorations and my favourite of all: chocolate cake! The kids and I were so excited when we looked inside the box, we wasn't expecting all of these. We were well and truly spoilt but we're very grateful.

This year Chloe's going to be a gorgeous witch in her velvety Ball Gown Costume, Lily's going to be a cute kitty with her Cat with Mask Costume and last but not least Ryan is going to be a scary skeleton in his All-in-One Skeleton Costume. Sainsbury's has an amazing Fancy Dress range this year and they're all at really great prices too.

The Sainsbury's Halloween Tarantula Cake was delicious and for just £3.50 Oh My God what a buy! The chocolate eyeballs have been put into our Trick or Treat bucket and placed by the front door ready to share out with any Trick or Treaters who may call over the next few days and the cobwebs and pumpkin lights are waiting to be put up for our party.

Sainsbury's have a spooktastic Halloween range this year, there's lots of choice and some great bargains to be had. We were sent our Halloween goodies as a gift for the purpose of this review but all our opinions expressed are always 100% our own and honest.

Matchbox Celebrates It's 60th Anniversary

Matchbox Celebrates It's 60th Anniversary

Since its launch, Matchbox vehicles and playsets have inspired and helped create countless, thrilling adventures for boys all over the world.  From fire trucks to police cars in pursuit, Matchbox has provided kids with six-decades of imaginative play!

To commemorate the brand’s 60 year anniversary, Matchbox has released a collectible die-cast line of 24 vehicles that harkens back to its roots to celebrate its birthday. They would make great alternative stocking fillers this Christmas, the assortment features some of the best-loved models and each of which comes with its own retro matchbox sized box!

We were sent two of the cars last week to help celebrate their big anniversary. We received a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Police and a Austin Mini Cooper. My little man was so pleased, he loves cars and these two were a welcomed addition to his collection.

Matchbox cars have always made great collectables for many  but not in our house as Ryan loves his new cars way too much to leave them sat in their boxes. I know he likes them when I can hear "Broom Broom" from behind my settee as he plays happily pushing them.

Happy 60th Anniversary Matchbox!

LeapFrog’s Scribble and Write #Review

LeapFrog’s Scribble and Write

If you're like me and want to help your kids improve their writing skills then this fantastic game from LeapFrog could be just the thing you're looking for. They can learn to draw shapes, pictures and both upper and lower case letters in a great interactive way which encourages children to learn at their own pace. It has two levels which can be changed at the flick of a switch, Ryan is only 3 years old so we've been using it on Level 1 to start off with.

My little man has been having so much fun tracing the lights to draw simple shapes and pictures. He's then moved on to writing upper and lower case letters and numbers too. The fun learning games help reinforce letter recognition and pencil control skills without them even realising. LeapFrog's Scribble and Write is a good sized toy, it's just big enough for children to use but not too big that you can't take it out with you. It actually won the 'Toy Talk Awards Educational Toys' back in 2009. It's easy to see why.

We love the way this toy speaks to us and tells us exactly what to do. It makes writing and learning fun by interacting with the child in a really clever way. Ryan had never written any numbers before now but can now easily write a number 1 all by himself which is a big achievement for a 3 year old. I'm sure it won't be long before he's mastering all of the other numbers too. It's so lovely to watch him, he's so proud of himself when he does it.

Not only can your children write and draw but they can interact and learn to count too. When Ryan drew a number 5 it asked him to clap 5 times along with them to celebrate which is another great feature that I love. The Scribble and Write is so easy to use, they simply draw on it with the attached pen and then swipe the button at the bottom across to clear it and start again. The pen cleverly clips neatly into the back when you want to put it away.

Both Ryan and I really love this toy and for the price of just £19.99 we think it's every penny. I know Ryan loves it a lot because everytime I put it away in his toybox he keeps getting it back out. He's had so much fun with it and loves it when he completes a new letter or number, it's definitely a hit with him. The Scribble and Write is great for keeping him entertained but it's really great because it's helping him learn so much at the same time.

The LeapFrog's Scribble and Write gets a very well deserved 5/5 from us. I had never seen these before but I am so glad that we have now as Ryan loves it and a happy Ryan means a very happy me. We were gifted our LeapFrog Scribble and Write for review purposes but all the opinions expressed are 100% my own.

We're Having A Halloween Party Thanks To Poundland..

We're Having A Halloween Party
Thanks To Poundland

Last week the wonderful people over at Poundland sent us a £25 gift voucher and challenged us to go instore to see if we could get everything we needed for our Halloween party.

I visit my local store at least once a week anyway as it's a great place to pick up the bits I need at great consistently low prices, plus it's very local to me which is even better. I've never really spent a whole £25 in one go before so I was very excited to see just how much I could get for the money. I knew I needed decorations, fancy dress costumes for the kids and lots of sweet treats for both us and our Trick or Treaters who would call at our door on the night.

I managed to fill two bags right to the top on my visit, which I must say I had so much fun doing. I'm very excited to see my children's faces when they see all the goodies I got for them this Halloween. Our party is going to be so much fun and it's not that long away now either.

I was very impressed with the Halloween range at my local Poundland, there really was lots to choose from and I managed to get so much for my £25. There was a fantastic selection of sweets and candy (lots of which were individually wrapped which makes them perfect for the Trick or Treaters) and plenty of great spooky decorations. There was lots of kids costume accessories to transform your kids into kitty cats or devilish devils and even some great adult masks too.I've loved this challenge so much - I had a frighteningly fun time!

So to answer Poundland's big challenge question: Yes I did get everything I needed BUT I could have easily got everything I needed to have a great Halloween party for much less.

Shamzee - Pillow Eating Friends #Review

Shamzee - Pillow Eating Friends

Shamzees (SRP £19.99) are super soft, huggable, pillow eating friends that allow kids to turn their bedroom pillow into a cute and cuddly companion. There are six friends to choose from;

We've been testing out a Green Monster from the Shamzees range. He's not a scary sort of monster though, he's actually kind of furry and cute. He's machine washable and fits on any standard bed pillow. He's really big, soft, and cuddly. Perfect for using at home or whilst traveling. Be warned as he's one hungry little monster, once you take him out of his box he will want feeding, he gobbles up your pillow to become you new super cozy comfy friend.

Last week Ryan had a simple plain blue pillow case but now he has a snuggly new green one. The Shamzee Green Monster is super soft and fluffy with a cute characterised face, he even has a bright orange tuft of hair on his head. Ryan thinks he is very funny looking but loves to jump on him and give him lots of cute cuddles. From the front it's a funny furry friend but from the back it's a normal pillow. Ryan's been playing with it like a teddy in the daytime but then takes it back to bed to use as his pillow by night so you really do get the best of both worlds.

These Shamzee's are fun pillow covers that bring your child's pillow to life. We scored them a fun 3/5. If your child wants a new bedtime friend that they can sleep on, then maybe these are for you. We received our Green Monster for free for the purpose of this review but all the opinions expressed are 100% honest and all my own.

Snuggle Pets Cuddle Up Pets - Blankets that are Puppets #Review

Snuggle Pets  Cuddle Up Pets
 Blankets that are Puppets

What do you get if you cross a blanket with a puppet? A CuddleUpPet!

CuddleUpPets (SRP £19.99) are a very special mix of super soft blanket and also a colourful puppet. They make the perfect friends for your kids to snuggle up to when travelling, watching TV or going to bed. There's lots of different pets to choose from but we've been lucky enough to receive a cheeky Purple Monkey, she's absolutely gorgeous.

My Lily (aged 6) is besotted with her new friend. She loves cuddling the super soft blanket, it's so lovely to touch. The blanket has 2 hands and 2 feet and a super cute tail too. The head is a very detailed monkey puppet that the kids can easily pop their hand in to control.

Lily loves to snuggle under it whilst reading a book or watching TV. She loves hiding behind the sofa putting on puppet shows for the rest of the family. She even takes her new monkey friend to bed with her, it's a really delightful multifunctional toy which I love. Maybe they should start making adult sized ones for us mummies too, I know I'd buy one.

These Snuggle Pets Cuddle Up Pets are fantastic, I must admit that Lily has been after one of these for a while after seeing the advert for them on our TV screens. I think they're going to be on a lot of other children's Christmas lists this year too. My eldest daughter who is 10 now wants one too after seeing Lily's, maybe Santa will bring her one if she is a good girl.

We scored the Cuddle Up Pets a wonderful 5/5. They're gorgeous to look at, their fun to play with and they are super soft to cuddle up to. All of us here at Mummy Of 3 Diaries love them!

To find out more information about Snuggle Pets and help with your kids bed time routine head over to for its Snuggle Pets takeover from 11th to 24th November 2013.

Snot the Zombie - Wow Packs! #Review

Snot the Zombie - Wow Packs!

Wow Packs, The worlds first animated backpacks.

Wow Packs are the perfect way to have fun in the car, at school, on a playdate with friends or even on your first sleepover. These remote controlled backpacks are animated – so they magically come to life in front of friends and family. The fun characters are full of personality.

You simply use the special button controls to wake up your Wow Pack. It's so easy to use and will make travelling or playing with friends even more fun! Different buttons control their eyes, nose and even eyelashes. Sit back and laugh out loud as these cute animated backpacks make funny faces and sound effects that will surprise friends and family.

Wow Packs are available in two characters, Cutezee the Kitty and Snot the Zombie. Snot the Zombie blows raspberries and even drips snot from his snotty nose. To me that's pretty gross but to my kids, it's the coolest thing ever! My little man adore this backpack and loves playing with it. It's so much more than just a backpack, it's an interactive buddy.

Each Wow Pack comes with a controller built into one of the straps and they have plenty of room inside for your childs essentials like pens, colouring books or toys.

The crazy eyes are so funny, they spin around when you press one of the buttons and the snot drips from his nose when you press another. The pictures above demonstrate this.

Wow Backpacks received a Dad's Choice Award 2013.

Ryan loves his new Snot The Zombie backpack, he's really enjoying using it. Each Wow Pack costs around £29 which is quite a lot for a backpack but like I said this isn't your ordinary backpack. It makes carrying their books or toys that little bit more fun. I know my little man is now happy to carry his own bag which is a fantastic, that's one less bag for me.

Mummy Of 3 Diaries received a Snot The Zombie backpack for free for the purpose of this review but that doesn't influence our thoughts and opinions on it. We really enjoyed playing with it and scored it a 3/5, it's a really fun backpack that kids will want to carry.

The Argos Toy Exchange Is Back!

  The Nation's Toy Treasures From
The Past 50 Years Revealed

A survey amongst parents reveals the top toys that have stood the test of time. More than a fifth of parents have kept toy treasures from their own childhood to pass on to their kids and this year’s Argos Toy Exchange aims to raise £1m in preloved toy donations for Barnardo’s

From teddy bears to train sets, toy boxes all over the UK are brimming with childhood memories that nod to a bygone era, as new research highlights the true value of our most loved toys.

Radio presenter and mum of one, Denise Van Outen has teamed up with the UK’s number one toy retailer Argos and children’s charity, Barnardo’s to mark the annual Argos Toy Exchange campaign. The project aims to raise money for the most vulnerable children across the UK.   With more than 70 per cent of parents donating unused toys to charity, the Toy Exchange is the perfect way to clear out old toys and make space whilst supporting a hugely worthwhile cause.

The study for the Argos Toy Exchange, reveals that 10 per cent of adults have kept toys from their childhood because they are a comfort to them, no matter whether their children like them or not. Childhood classics Lego, Barbie and Monopoly are the favourites of the parents’ generation with more than a fifth of parents keeping much loved toys to pass on to their own children.  The study reveals the top 10 toys from the past 50 years:

1. Lego
2. Barbie
3. Monopoly
4. Action Man
5. Scalextric
6. Tiny Tears
7. My Little Ponies
8. Cabbage Patch Kids
9. Subbuteo
10. Sylvanian Families

The current generation of children have on average 69 per cent more toys in their toy boxes than their parents did but, parents admit that their children only tend to play with less than half of the toys in their collection. So what happens to the forgotten toys? According to the study of more than 1,000 parents of school age children, just under a third store them in the loft, attic or garage, while a quarter leave them languishing at the bottom of the toy box or back of the cupboard. Amy Whidburn, Head of Corporate Responsibility for Argos, said: “Last year’s Toy Exchange raised hundreds of thousands of pounds in toy donations.  We are looking to build on this success by setting an even higher fundraising target of £1 million this year.

Argos customers are invited to drop off unwanted toys at Argos stores in return for a £5 voucher towards the cost of new toys (minimum £35 spend), to be redeemed at Argos by 24 December.  Donated toys are then passed onto Barnardo’s retail outlets where they are resold to raise funds for the charity.  The charity’s stores across the UK will also be accepting toys on behalf of Argos and distributing £5 vouchers to those who donate.

Denise Van Outen, who is helping to launch this year’s campaign, said: “The Argos Toy Exchange is a fantastic initiative! Being a mum myself I know how important it is that children have toys, not only to enjoy but also to help them learn and develop. As we start to think about Christmas it is the perfect time to help those in need. I urge families across the UK to get out to their closest Argos store and donate their unwanted toys.”

Gerard Cousins, Barnardo's Director of Retail and Trading, said: “After the success of last year’s Toy Exchange, we are really excited about the potential that this year’s campaign holds and are delighted to be partnering with Argos again.  The initiative works well for us but its beauty lies in the fact that the concept is so simple.  All customers have to do to help the most disadvantaged children in society is donate their pre-loved toys”.
