Our #Treefutomtoys Party

Our Tree Fu Tom Toys Party

In case you didn't know, last Tuesday we hosted a Tree Fu Tom Toys Party alongside 24 other lovely bloggers. We each hosted our own separate parties but also joined together to unite using the power of Twitter. There was fun, games and laughs a plenty. We had a wonderful time, it was crazy but so much fun and although it was hard work I would do it all over again.

We were sent a box full of amazing Tree Fu Tom Toys to help him celebrate the launch of his fantastic new toy range. There was toys for the kids to play with and cakes to enjoy. There was even toy prizes and gifts for them to take home. It was a lovely evening, enjoyed by all.

We had 10 guests in total, 3 of which were my own children. We played lots of partty games and had fun colouring and being silly with the Squizzles. It was nice to see so many smiles.

I wanted to show you some of the toys and tell you what the kids thought:
The Magic Moves Rap Mat was the party favourite. It's set to music from the show, so that the kids can follow the flashing lights to perform Tree Fu Tom’s special moves and get to the next levels. It was the most popular toy out of the range, the kids were fighting each other to have goes on this one. It's great for keeping them entertained and moving, it's a great toy.

Our next favourite was the Squizzles, when I first saw these I just looked at them a little puzzled but after actually playing with them, I realised just how much fun they could be. We used them as frisbies, as balls for catch and we even used them to play pass the Squizzle which was lots of fun as we used only our knees to pass them. There was lots of giggles all round. I really liked these, they are simple yet great. Not a toy to be over looked.

Next up we had the Tree Fu Tom Deluxe Holopax, this was another big hit with the kids. This Super Holopax is just like Tom's. You press the button and open the shell to reveal your Tree Fu friends with flashing lights and your favourite phrases from the TV show to help you on your adventures! With the Super Holopax you can be a Tree Fu hero too! It Includes 25 phrases. The kids loved this one but it wasn't great for sharing, it's one of them toys that every kid wants one of their own. I quite liked the music and the flashing lights were great. A huge thumbs up from all of us for this toy.
The Tree Fu Tom Zigzoo's Wagon Playset is cute, You can jump aboard Zigzoo's Wagon in this Tree Fu Tom playset and get ready for an adventure. Unsurprisingly the crazy inventor's wagon is very high tech, featuring lots of gears and a little bell. You'll also get a poseable Zigzoo figure who carries his trusty spanner and telescope. This is a great playset for children aged three and up. We quite enjoyed this little playset, it's very sweet.
There are 5 Tree Fu Tom Figures to collect: Tom, Ariela, Squirmtum, Twigs and Zigzoo. Each  cute little figure come with a base and accessory. They're very detailed and bright and really close to the characters on the show. They are great for collecting or playing with as part of their imaginary world. The kids liked these, just not as much as some of the other more active toys in the range. Who can blame them though, flashing lights and fun music is a bit hard to beat.

Overall we had an amazing time at our party and really enjoyed playing with all of the new Tree Fu Tom Toys. We had our favourites but what would be yours? All of the new tots are now available to buy in the shops and online.

Will your kids become huge Tree Fum Tom Toys fans like mine? I hope so.

A Small Taste Of Italy With Thomson Al Fresco

A Small Taste Of Italy With Thomson Al Fresco

It's been an exciting few days here in the Mummy Of 3 Diaries household. I've been enjoying a small taste of Italy right here at home. Thomas Al Fresco were looking for delicious recipe ideas to accompany some of the countries they offer fantastic holidays in. Seeing as my favourite food is pasta, of course I opted for Italy. I was sent a wonderful hamper to help me on my journey and boy was I spoilt for choice. It was full of inspiring Italian themed products.

I took my amazing hamper to my Mum's who helped me wit this challenge, she's the best cook I know. We decided on a simple yet tasty recipe that would make the most of the ingredients that we had in front of us. We went for a Spaghetti Bolognese with a Pepper and Aubergine twist.

What We used:

One jar of Peppers and Aubergine Tapenade
A small spoon of Black Olive Tapenade.
A splash of Red Wine
2 LBs of Fresh Mince Meat
A pinch of salt
A handful of fresh spaghetti
A small amount of grated cheese

We mixed in the jar of Peppers and Aubergine Tapanade with a spoon of the Black Olive Tapanade into a big pan. We then added a tin of tomatoes and stirred it all together. We then added the fresh mince meat and left too cook, stirring occasionally. At the same time we boiled the fresh spaghetti and popped some garlic balls into the oven. It was really easy to do.

Our meal was so easy to do, even I could do it. It didn't take very long either, it was all ready to eat in less than half an hour, perfect. We also made some wheel shaped pasta for the kids which we served with the same meat and sauce, I just thought it might make their dinner look a little more interesting. It turned out they actually preferred the spaghetti like us.

Here's what my finished Spaghetti Bolognese with a Pepper and Aubergine twist looked like:

It was amazing! The flavours were truly delightful, I'm not a fan of fish and I've never eaten aubergines before but it tasted fantastic. I had blended all the sauce before cooking as I'm quite a fussy eater and don't like lumps in my food. The flavours were all still there just minus the big lumps which was perfect for fussy old me. The spaghetti was lovely and the mince meat just tasted so nice. I was very pleased with myself I must admit even if I did get a little help from my Mum. I had successfully made dinner for my whole family and it actually tasted really good.

My Spaghetti Bolognese with a Pepper and Aubergine twist was a huge hit, there was clean plates all round. I even had a second serving. Thank you Thomas Al Fresco for being the inspiration behind our new recipe and helping us create our delicious meal.

Mummy Of 3 Diaries received this above mention hamper to help with this post. All opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced by this.

Memories Captured Forever

Memories Captured Forever

Memories really do last a life time when you have them captured on a camera. This is one of my all time favourite photographs ever! It was taken on my hospital bed the day after my son Ryan was born. He was so tiny weighing in a just 6lb 13oz's. From the moment I saw him, I was in love. He was the sweetest little thing I had ever seen. He had the sweetest button nose with a head full of fluffy black hair. He even had his daddy's hairline which made me smile instantly.

Ryan wasn't my first born but he was the smallest. My two girls had weighed in at 7lb 8oz and 7lb 7oz they seemed huge compared to him. He was just to little, it almost frightened me.

Whenever I see this picture all those memories and feelings come flooding back. I relive those first few days and how nervous I was to hold him all over again. Just look at the size of daddy's hand, it's bigger than his head. It's a real reality check for me this, it really put things into proportion. He really was so tiny and small but so sweet and perfect! I love my son Ryan with all my heart, he's amazing. Each day has been a pleasure to watch him grow into the cheeky little man he has become. He's two years old now and growing up fast but he'll always be my little man. Nothing will ever change that, I take hundreds of photographs of all my kids as I know only too well that times goes by way too fast and once it's gone, you can never get it back. The only way you can hold onto those precious memories and make them live forever is by capturing them on film or in my case on my phone, which is good enough for me.

“This post is Christine's entry into the Printerpix Photo competition.” My entry is for the Babies under 2  category.  Wish me luck.

No Words . Just Silence.

No Words. Just Silence

This morning news spread of a tragedy close to our hearts. A young boy who we knew very well died yesterday. At just 9 years old he was driven to take his own life through the sadness caused by the cruel actions of bullies. I have no words to say I feel right now, my tears speak for themselves.

Today a whole hall of children will be told of our loss, I have no idea how they are going to cope or feel or even understand. I just hope that his life has not been for nothing and that we can all learn from this. I hope my children realise that bullies can cause such tragic repercussions.

Cruel words and actions may seem like just part of school life but they are not and just look what they can cause. Such words and actions have driven a little boy to end his own life. His family are now left with such sorrow and emptiness. My heart goes out to them!

Tears fall endlessly, your name remains in my mind.
You were such a gentle boy, so caring and kind.
A sensitive soul who often got upset
By the words and actions of others.
I never knew how bad it had got.
To make you leave your sisters and brothers.

I hope those bullies are ashamed
I hope they now feel your pain.
I hope they understand that through their actions
Our lives will never be the same.

Your life will be remembered, your smile will stay alive
Your life has ended far too soon but we will not lose our drive.
We will all try harder with kindness, we will all do our best
We will go on but for you sweet child. I hope that you can now rest.

Rest In Peace Aaron. We will never forget you. Another life ended before it's truly begun.
God will take care of you now. xxx

Looking For Something Special This Valentines?

Looking For Something Special This Valentines?

How about something special from a lovely little store called RMA Williams Jewellers that I once visited in the gorgeous little town of Porthcawl in Wales? It's a gorgeous family run business that really goes that extra mile for it's customers. I've been lucky enough to visit the store itself but if you're not so lucky to be down that way you can always visit their online store which is just as awesome. They might have the perfect gift for your valentine this year.
This Connection Heart Bracelet by Muru is a beautiful piece. The connected hearts symbolise the unbreakable bond between loved ones and for just £70.00 this Sterling Silver gift could be the one for your loved one. I think it's very sweet, I might have to drop a few hints for this one myself.

This Heart Locket Pendant by Hot Diamonds is simply stunning. I'm a huge fan of hearts and this one is pretty special. This locket features a sterling silver heart with a starburst-set diamond at its centre. It's so pretty and for just £79.95 it's a beautiful buy.

RMA Williams Jewellers has a huge selection of beautiful pieces too choose from, they also have a few ideas in their Valentines Day selection to give you some ideas. I know as a lady and a partner, I would love to receive a new piece of jewellery this Valentines Day. I'm sue most ladies would, so if you're looking for that extra special gift RMA Williams Jewellers have it all.

My favourite piece of jewellery is my Sterling Silver Thomas Sabo bracelet which I actually bought from the RMA Williams store. I fell in love with it from the moment I walked in and saw it sitting there in their gorgeous Thomas Sabo display. I also bought my very first lucky charm to start me off. It doesn't seem that long ago although it was over two years but you wouldn't guess it from looking at my bracelet. It still shines bright and looks as new and gorgeous as ever.

It no longer has just one lonely charms no more, now it's home to a family of 7 loving charms. I've collected them over the years on birthdays and other special occasions  Each one is special and has it's own little story to tell.

I have two lucky charms, a four leaf clover and a Chinese lucky cat. I have a diamond heart and an engagement ring charm. I have my initial "C" and my Blue Topaz birth stone. Last but not least I have my religious cross. I love each of my charms very much and I couldn't imagine not wearing them. My wrist would feel so incomplete, my charm bracelet is a part of who I am now.

If you were thinking about buying your partner a charm bracelet, I would say "Go for it" what starts out as an empty bracelet will take you on a wonderful journey full of love and memories until it's complete and full of beautiful charms. The amazing thing about these charm bracelets is that the story never has too end as you can always take some off and ass new ones or maybe even start again. I have a few of my old charms tucked away in their boxes in case I fancy a change again one day. Charm bracelets are so personal, so pretty and so much fun!

My charm story began at RMA Williams Jewellers but it's far from over.

Get Through This Winter With @goodyear_uk 's Awesome Winter Tyres!

Is your car struggling in the winter weather? Struggle NO more with GoodYears Excellent Value Winter Tyres.

After the inclement weather of the past month, it is becoming more and more apparent to fit winter tyres to vehicles.

Summer tyres are not designed to cope with snow and ice which is why tyre manufacturers such as Goodyear produce winter tyres. These tyres are built to ensure the same performance is possible in cold temperatures and bad weather.

Winter tyres offer a softer compound which reacts well to cold temperatures. They also have something called ‘sipe technology’ which grabs hold of the snow and ice within the tread pattern and uses it to create traction between the tyre and the road surface, this enables cars to continue as normal, whatever the weather.

Goodyear’s latest winter tyre technology comes in the shape of the Goodyear UltraGrip 8 Performance. The tyre was specifically developed to deliver solid performance on slush, snow and on icy roads, and came to the market on the basis of extensive consumer insight research and ongoing analysis of winter road and traffic realities across Europe, particularly in climates like the UK. The results of this research showed that there was a significant demand for solid handling, braking and grip capabilities in a tyre, building on consumer concerns over vehicle control in snow.
All-in-all, the tyre was developed to ensure it could function in an often varying winter environment, which is what we see a lot of in the UK.

We have the GoodYear UltraGrip 8 Performance on our Seat Leon FR and would definitely recommend them to everyone we know. We feel 100% safer now that we are using them, our summer tyres just couldn't cope the way that these do. They are pretty awesome!

Let me tell you why these GoodYear UltraGrip 8 Performance Tyres really are worth buying:

Confident handling on snow - Travel with confidence on snow-covered roads. The UltraGrip 8 Performance provides superior grip and braking on hard-packed snow, thanks to the integration of three different types of sipes. The saw-shaped central rib works like a snowplow, grabbing onto surface snow for extra traction.

Excellent performance on ice - The UltraGrip 8 Performance features a large contact patch that improves handling on ice. The silica tread compound maintains good grip at low temperatures.

Reduced risk of aquaplaning - Special hydrodynamic tread grooves quickly channel water away from the tyre surface, helping you keep control on wet or slushy roads.

Fuel efficient design - The tyre’s low-weight construction reduces rolling resistance, lowering your vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

So why choose GoodYear?

Every Goodyear tyre has more than one hundred years of safety-driven innovation behind it. We’re committed to making tyres safer, longer lasting, and kinder to the environment. With Goodyear, you get performance and peace of mind as standard.

Safety together - As the only point of contact between your vehicle and the road, tyres play a vital role in driving safety. Goodyear is at the forefront in developing new technologies that help to keep you secure on every journey. From compound polymers that deliver better grip and braking, to tread patterns that keep working when worn, we’re dedicated to delivering products you can trust.

A tradition of innovation - At Goodyear, we’re always looking ahead. We’ve been advancing tyre technology since 1898 – producing the tyres for the first Ford Model T, playing our part in land speed records, and crafting the first tyre to land on the moon. Along the way, we’ve pioneered technologies that have been used in everything from aircraft to artificial hearts. We’re continually crossing boundaries to make our products better, which means you’ll always get a tyre based on the very best of our research.

Kinder to the planet - Goodyear technologies are helping to protect the planet too. Our latest tyres last longer, use fewer natural resources, and reduce fuel consumption. With our recent advances in renewable biomass materials, we’re working to reduce our impact further and help you leave a smaller footprint.

Get your car through winter with GoodYear. You won't be disappointed.

We had our very own GoodYear UltraGrip 8 Performance Tyres fitted last week onto our Seat Leon. Not only do they look fantastic but they make such a huge difference! The handling is so much smoother than it was before. We've definitely noticed a big improvement. We can now also drive in all weathers, which is great seeing as we live in the UK. All the rain, ice and snow last week was no longer a problem for us, with our new GoodYear winter tyres it was a breeze.

Don't they look amazing! My Mr has been showing them off all over town, he's more than happy with his new tyres. He's delighted and who can blame him.

Just look at those grips, the treads are so chunky - just  perfect for our UK Winter weather. We're now prepared to drive no matter what the weather throws at us!

We would gladly recommend these GoodYear UltraGrip 8 Performance Tyres to everyone! Keep your family safe this winter with a set of good quality tyres. Have a Good Year by going to GoodYear. A huge thumbs up from all of us here at Mummy Of 3 Diaries!

I'm A Tree Fu Tom Party Host #TreeFuTomToys

I'm A Tree Fu Tom Party Host

Tree Fu Tom is about the amazing adventures of a young boy called Tom who, with the power of ‘movement magic’ called ‘Tree Fu’, can transform into a tiny but mighty magical super hero and travel to a wondrous enchanted kingdom called Treetopolis that exists in a tree in his back garden.

Here he meets his magical friends: Twigs, Tom’s best friend and side-kick, a silly and energetic acorn sprite; Zigzoo, a bubbly, eccentric tree frog inventor; Squirmtum, an odd-job woodlouse with a heart of gold; Ariela: a beautiful but rough-and-tumble ranch-running butterfly; and Treetog, a Tree Fu Master and wise teacher.

Set against the Treelings are the mischievous Mushas: comically bungling, no-good, foolish fungi, brother and sister duo Stink and Puffy.

Tom and Twigs are inseparable as they become embroiled in amazing, action-packed adventures, which always lead to trouble, impending disaster and near catastrophe. When events run beyond their control, it is only with help from the audience performing Tree Fu moves and passing their magic through the screen that Tom can create spectacular Big World Magic and save the day!  As the audience joins in with Tom, they too become superheros!

All spell movements have been developed from those used to help children who have movement disorders and difficulties such as Dyspraxia, and the spell sequences have been designed by movement specialists/therapists to assist and enhance the development of all children – regardless of whether they have any movement challenges – at a crucial time in their growth.

You can watch Tree Fu Tom on the CBeebies Channel from 5.45pm 3rd Feburary 2013.

Mummy Of 3 Diaries will be hosting a fun filled Tree Fu Tom Twitter Party on Tuesday February 18th. I will be hosting a real life party for my children and their friends but you will be able to join in too by following me on twitter and using the #TreeFuTomToys. I will tell you more real soon.
