Review - Method Pink Grapefruit Hand Wash

Method Pink Grapefruit Hand Wash

The lovely people over at Method kindly sent me a Pink Grapefruit Hand Wash to sample and review.

The Method hand washes are the perfect way to combat hand hygiene without giving your hands the harsh treatment. They are made of naturally-derived, biodegradable ingredients containing vitamin E and aloe making them as safe as they are stunning. The paraben and triclosan-free washes and gels have never been tested on animals and are served up in bottles made from 100% recycled plastic.

The Method gel hand wash in pink grapefruit, smells gorgeous. It lathers up nicely when only having to use a small amount whcih means my bottle should last me a long time. The bottle is Beautifully shaped and very pretty in pink. It's now sitting nicely on my bathroom sink. The Method hand washes  retail at just £2.49 which is a great price for what you are getting.

There are lots of other colours and scented hand washes to choose from. You might prefer the Clear Sweet Water  or the brighter coloured Cucumber.

I really liked the pink grapefruit one as it fits in nicely with all my other girlie pink things.

A big thumbs up from me!

Spa Magik Gentle Cleansing Facial Wash 150ml
Spa Magik Rich Moisturiser 75ml
Spa Magik Mild Exfoliant 5ml Luxury Pumpkin Wash Puff

There was so much in the gift to review that I offered my Mother in Law Fiona the chance to take this one on. She's a huge spa products fan so she kindly jumped at the opportunity. Here's what she thought.

Cleansing facial wash – The first time I used this I squeezed an amount about the size of a 10p piece.  I wet my face and lathered it up and it turned into a thick creamy lather that cleansed my face beautifully but was far too much.  The next time I used a spot about the size of a 5p piece and this was perfect.  The thick creamy lather was like using a cold cream and it removed my make up and waterproof mascara with no trouble at all.  After rinsing my skin felt rich and moist with no dryness.  With the small amount you need to use the tube will last for months.

Mild exfoliator – I used this after the facial wash.  I only used a small amount as my skin is quite sensitive and I did not want to overdo it.  However I had no need to worry, the granules in the exfoliator were so fine they glided over my skin and did not feel rough in any way.  When I rinsed them off my skin positively felt rejuvenated, smooth and soft.

Rich moisturiser – I smoothed a small amount of the moisturiser on after using the cleanser and exfoliate. A little went a long way, the cream was light and non greasy and was absorbed quickly leaving my skin feeling moist but not shiny.  An added bonus is that there is UV and UVA protection in the cream.

Salt brushing – It says on the instructions to use this standing in the bath.  I did so and was glad because the crystals seem to go everywhere.  As I rubbed it on my dry skin I thought this is doing nothing except make a mess, but I persevered and was I glad I did!!  As I rinsed it off my skin felt like velvet with no dryness or soreness from the rub – it was fantastic.  An absolute must use once a week.

Bath shower gel – After I had washed off the salt brushing I had a long warm bath made soft, fragrant and bubbly with the bath shower gel.  The gel made the water smell pleasantly with soft airy bubbles.  Afterwards I used the gel as a shower wash using the pumpkin puff wash.  The gel made a lovely soft rich lather with just a couple of pumps and washed me well without drying my skin.

Mineral Shampoo – I washed my hair and the shampoo smelt fresh and clean.  I only needed one wash to leave my hair squeaky clean.

Magic serum – This is another miracle worker.  I worked the serum into my hair as instructed, and left for a couple of minutes after combing it through.  It rinsed out easily and I was able to comb it without any knots or tangles.  The best bit was after I dried my hair, my hair felt like silk, soft shiny and smelt fresh.  The following day my hair still looked like it was freshly washed and full of body.  I am definitely going to be buying this product.

Smooth body lotion – After my bath and shower, I applied the body lotion as a finishing touch.  My skin was already smooth and felt nourished after using the salt scrub and shower gel but after using this lotion it seemed to seal in all the moisture and cool my skin leaving it smooth and dry.

Fresh’n white – This toothpaste is a liquid type form.  You use a couple of drops on your toothbrush and it makes a light, fresh, sort of foam, not heavy like toothpaste.  It cleaned my teeth without feeling like I had a mouthful of paste.  It can also be used as a breath freshening mouthwash.  An excellent product.
It sound like she had an Amazing time with this gift set. All those Wonderful Spa products in one Amazing Gift set! Thank you so much  Fiona - You did an excellent job on that review.

Review - Build A Bear & Pudsey

Build A Bear & Pudsey

Today we had an amazing day. We visited our local Build a Bear store in the Bullring Birmingham. We were kindly invited for the purpose of this review and was generously provided with £30 credit per child. We were a little nervous but was soon put at ease once we were greeted by our lovely helper Laura. She took us through the Build a Bear workshop process and doted upon my 3. They were spoilt rotten. I'm now gonna walk you through it step by step.

First off came the hard bit, the "Choose Me" stage where they had to decide on which bear they wanted. With so many to choose from, this took a while. The bears range in price from £7 up to £18 depending on which you choose but they're all clearly marked up so it's easy to see. Chloe decided on the gorgeous Lil' Bunny Big Ears. whilst Lily went for the obvious choice, the Pink Sweet Cuddles Teddy. Ryan was a little harder to please as he wanted them all but finally stuck with the very cute Marble Monkey. All the bears were gorgeous so I really didn't mind what they wanted to choose just as long as they were all happy with their bear.

With their Bears picked we then moved onto the step 2 - The "Hear Me" stage. This is where we got to play with a huge voice box machine to see if they wanted to add a voice or sound box into their bear. There was lots to choose from, "I Love You"s and Lullaby's, Laughs, Growls and Giggles.

After pressing them all to hear what each would sound like it was time to decide. Chloe went for a simple yet very sweet "I Love You" whereas Lily went for the Girls 6 in 1 voice box which says 6 different girlie phrases. We chose for Ryan as we thought the Boys 6 in 1 would suit him best as it had more variety of words for him to learn. The sound boxes cost just £2.50 which for such a little price actually added a great feature which brings their bears to life.

Step 3 was the "Stuff Me" stage which is where our bears got stuffed full of the fluffy stuffing from the big machine The bears were gently put onto the end of the Stuffing machine and they then got to press the foot pedal to fill them up until they were happy with the cuddliness of their bear.

Chloe kept hers soft and squishy whilst Lily just wanted to keep pressing the pedal so went for a more firmer bear. The stuffing machine looked very magical. I was a huge rotating machine full of fluffy goodness. I could have watched it spin for ages, it was quite relaxing. Lily loved the foot pedal as you can see. We had to actually lift her off it in the end as her poor bear was going to pop lol

We then added in our Magical Wishing Hearts. They each picked a little red satin heart from the pot, gave it a big kiss (which made us all giggle) and made a wish. I have no idea what they wished for as it's a secret but I'm sure what ever it is their bears will know ;) The heart was then placed inside their bears and stitched safely shut.
They then went over to a sweet little counter which had a foot pedal controlled hair dryer feature and
brushes to groom the bears. The girls loved this and quite happily crouched down playing for a few minutes.

Step 4 was the fun bit, it was the "Dress Me" part. The girls were both very excited and rushed off to have a good luck at all the gorgeous outfits that they could choose. There was such a huge variety it took a while but it was nice to see the excitement on their faces as they stood gawping up at the shelves.

All of the Clothes are lovely, there are some very sweet dresses, cosy pyjamas and fun dressing up costumes. There really is something to please every one. Lily fell in love with the very pretty Disney's Sleeping Beauty Costume, whilst Chloe choose the equally pretty  Pastel Tulle Dress. She finished off her bears look with a pair of funky White Gem Faux-Fur Boots lol Ryan was too little choose an outfit so I chose for him. I went for the gorgeous Disney's Cars PJs which I think fitted him perfectly. Ryan has a cute cheeky monkey in pyjamas - not quite bananas in pyjamas but close enough.

The final stage in our journey was the "Name Me" stage. This is where they named their bears and entered their details into a big computer which then printed off a Birth Certificate for them. It was kinda sad coming to the end as we'd had so much fun. We were in the store a total of 45 minutes and enjoyed every minute of it. My children are all so happy with their new bears and I'm sure they will treasure them for months to come. Ryan cuddled his new monkey friend named Jake all the way home. Lily named her bear Tinkerbell lol and Chloe named her Bunny Laura after the lovely lady who looked after us during our visit.

Build a Bear workshops have teamed up with BBC Children in Need this year to give it's guests the opportunity to build their very own Pudsey or Blush bear.
Pudsey and Blush fans are able to make their very own BBC Children in Need mascot at any of 55 Build-A-Bear Workshop stores across the UK with £5 from the sale of each PudseyPudsey with his busy fundraising schedule, lending him a well needed paw when he needs it. Blush loves to have fun and comes with magnetic paws to help her cover her rosy cheeks.

New for this year is a furbulous Pudsey, who has been re-designed to feature a beary cute spotted heart, a t-shirt with an all new BBC Children in Need design and a bear-illiant pair of Pudsey slippers and pyjamas. Blush has had a make-over too with a beary pretty new pinafore dress. An additional £1 from the sale of the t-shirt, slippers, pyjamas and dress will also be donated back to the charity.

Pudsey Bear retails at £15; Pudsey Bear t-shirt at £5; Pudsey Bear Pyjamas at £10 and the Pudsey Bear slippers at £4.50 each. Blush Bear retails at £15; Blush Bear t-shirt at £5; and the Blush Bear dress at £10 each.

We had a Fantastic day today and I wanna thank Build a Bear so much for making my kids so happy. Here's us before we left:

And here's one of our lovely helper Laura with the kids:

We are all now huge fans of Build a Bear and would definitely recommend that you visit one day if you haven't already. It's not only a fun experience but a great way to get your child involved in the making of their new bear.
We give Build a Bear a HUGE Thumbs up from all of us here at Mummy Of 3 Diaries and look forward to visiting again real soon.

What's Your Guilty Pleasure?- Comfort Foods.

What's Your Guilty Pleasure?

We all have a favourite food that we eat 'cus it's quick and easy and we just simply can't be bothered to cook anything else. Mine is ready made packets of Macaroni Cheese! Mmm

It's so easy to make. You just add milk, water and butter into a pan then bring to the boil. Then add the packet and stir, simmering for about 7-10 minutes and that's it. All Done! It's so delicious served with a nice piece of bread and butter. I cheat a little and add some grated cheese on the top for some extra flavour. So that's my favourite comfort food!

What's your guilty pleasure?

Our Half Term Day Out - Hatton Country World

Our Half Term Day Out - Hatton Country World

Today we decided last minute - Lets go somewhere! We decided on Hatton Country World based in the West Midlands. We've been once before in the summer but today we decided to brave the winter and go join in their Halloween Event - Pumpkin Week. We don't really celebrate Halloween in our house but today we decided that it's just the bit of outdoor fun that we needed.

This is not a sponsored post in anyway. We went for a family day out and I've decided too blog about it simply because we had such a fab time. The prices are one entrance price of: Adults £11.95 Children £13.95 and under 2's FREE.

The entrance fee included access to everything inside the park for free :D There was so much to do, we were there for hours. Open spaces galore. Pure natural fun. For late October the weather was gorgeous, lovely sunshine and not that cold. It was beautiful out there. There was myself, Daddy, Lily & Ryan on our day out today and I think I can speak for all of us and say we all had an amazing day!

Lily had fun playing in huge Wendy houses, milking pretend cows and running riot amongst the fields. We rode tractors and JCB's , Fed the goats and sheep. We even got to hold and feed the Guinea pigs which were all so cute. We had fun on the swings and huge slides in the outdoor play areas. There's huge sandpit areas too where the kids can play, build or create. Ryan had a great time. It almost looks like he's at the beach.

We had a fab lunch in their cafe and was amazed at the HUGE indoor play area we found inside. It was one of the best soft play area's I've seen and I've seen a fair few. There was loads of spaces to play, hide and explore. 3 great slides, A devils drop, a Bumpy slide with mats and an adventurous dropped slide that my Lily went down all by herself. I don't know what came over her, She was like "Mummy look at me" I think I was more scared than she was lol We must have spend over a good hour inside before I eventually managed to drag them out. After all we had Pumpkins too pick!

The Pumpkin field was huge and such a beautiful sight, I've never seen anything quite like it. After a good search of them all - Yes them all lol We eventually found Lily's & Ryan's special pumpkin, just for them. There was a hut where we could go carve them but we ran out of time so didn't quite get round to that - It's OK though because we brought them home to do here.

Lily's favourite part was all the free rides, bouncy castles and inflatable slide. They could go on as much as they liked because it was all free :D

The only things we had to pay for was Lily's Pony ride which was only £2 so well worth it and her go on the Ranging Bull - just a £1.

We truly had an amazing day. It's been great fun and I really can't wait to go back again. There's so much more we did that I haven't mentioned but I don't wanna keep you here all night.

One thing I would like to say is that if you live in the West Midlands then Hatton Country World is a must. You won't be disappointed - We wasn't!

Review - 5 Second Rule

5 Second Rule Board Game

This new and Exciting baord game from University Games is a fast thinking, mind boggling family fun game. You'd think it would be easy to name 3 breeds of dog – but can you do it under the pressure of 5 seconds twisting down and with the other players staring, waiting for you to get flustered? Time is not on your side, so you just have to say what first comes to mind and risk ridiculous answers can start slipping out as time twirls down on the spiral timer. It’s all in good fun with this fast-paced family game. You can have 3 to 6 players and it's recommended for ages 8 to adult.

There's a short Video on You Tube that explains a lillte more.

Being half term we decided to play this game today and i'm so glad we did. We set up the board and gave out the required pass and switch cards which give you the chance to pass on a question or get a new one.

The questions were very varied from "Name 3 animals beginning with B?" or "Name 3 Formula one drivers?" There was deffinatley something for everyone. I played with my two daughters Chloe aged 8 and Lily aged 4 which was a little hard but she tried her best. We did let her have a little longer than the allowed 5 seconds seeing as she was so little. We had a great time. It was really fun. Some of their silly answers did make me smile and we all genuinley have a fun time.

Our game lasted around 30 minutes until Chloe won by a 3 number lead. You need to get move all 12 spaces by getting 12 questions right too win. She had lots of fun and was a very deserving winner but next time I'm not letting her win ;)

I loved thsi game and would definatley reccomend it, I'm looking forward to playing at our family get together. Just imagine what silly answers I'll hear once they've all had a Christimas drink or two.

It's available to buy in Argos for £19.99 which is about the right price for a board game nowadays. We had a great time playing it and i'm sure we will again. Good honest family fun. The only thing that couls have made it better for us was if they'd have maybe seperate boxes with packs of kids questions cards and adults questions. I know it does say 8 plus but if it had too choices of cards that age could be lowered so more of the family could join in. We give the 5 Second Rule game a 4/5.

Have you played this one yet?

Review - HABA Mail Box

HABA Mail Box

The HABA Mail Box toy comes in a very sweet little metal box. It's very pretty, nicely decorated with cute pictures of a donkey character. This set retails at £13.99 and contains 50 sheets of paper, 20 post cards and 20 envelopes, 2 wooden stamps, 1 ink pad and 150 postage stamp stickers. It's quite a lot really for such a little tin.

My girls love to write and draw so this was a perfect choice for them. HABA sent them this for free to see what they thought about it. Chloe enjoys writing letters to her school friends where as Lily just likes drawing pictures for her Granny.

Today I gave them just 2 sheets of paper, 2 post cards, 2 sticker sheets and 2 envelopes each to let them play and do what ever they wanted with them. I set them all out on our dinning room table along with the ink pad and wooden stamps and left them too it.

I think this toy is great for the price, it really kept them busy for a good hour and that was only with 2 of each. So with 50 in total, there's so much more fun still to be had. Chloe loved the letter paper and envelopes so now she can write her silly notes to her friends on pretty paper with pretty envelopes to match. Lily loved the stamp stickers, almost too much as she stuck them every where lol Lucky for me they peel off easily ;)

There's nothing at all we would change about the HABA Mail Box toy, its cute and perfect just the way it is. We would definitely recommend it too other mums as if your kids are anything like mine, then I'm sure they will love it too. We gave it a very well deserved 5/5.

The HABA Mail Box toy is perfect for both girls and boys as the tin is bright yellow and there's mutual colours throughout all of the design.

Here's what Lily made for her Granny, I think Granny is going to love it.
