From £9.99 at www.therealcupcakecompany.co.uk. We were sent a Orange Cupcake Making Kit to try which we had a lot of fun using.
The kit itself is all really simple to use. The Cake mix and Icing come in ready to use sealed bags. You just need to add 2 eggs to your mix and that's it,its ready to go. I made ours with my Middle daughter Lily who loves to bake. She had fun mixing and spooning the mixture into the provided paper cases. We popped our cakes into the over and waited for 12-15 minutes and done: 12 yummy cupcakes ready to cool, then decorate and eat.
The mixture had risen nicely and had blossomed into 12 lovely little cakes. We left them too cool for a few minutes whilst we got our icing bags ready. We cut the end of the bags and popped in one of the star shaped plastic nozzles which had came in the kit. This bit mummy did as it was a bit tricky. I tried my best swirling the icing neatly around the top. It was my first attempt so i think i did quite a good job. Lily's job was to add the chocolate and orange sprinkles,i think she managed to spare a few for the cakes but had eaten most of them before she got a chance lol
Here's Lily showing you the finished product. What do you think? I think they looked great. We had alot of fun making them but now it was time to taste them. The sponge was delicious, light and fluffy and very yummy, just like a good cake should be. The icing was very bright and colourful but was also very sweet and very strongly orange flavoured. A little too Sour for me but Lily managed to eat a few.
I think the whole Cupcake making experience was very enjoyable, we had a great time. If you like baking and making cakes then this is definitely one for you.
