I'm a Zack & Quack Party Host! #ZackandQuack

I'm a Zack & Quack Party Host!

I'm so excited to tell you that I am going to be a lucky Zack & Quack Party Host! It's going to be a Zack & Quack Twitter Party extravaganza and you can join in too!

It's taking place live on Twitter on Friday 7th February from 3:45pm to 5:45pm.

This Twitter party is going to be very different to anything we've done before as it's based around the UK premiere of a brand new TV series, Zack & Quack, which takes place in a cardboard pop-up world where Zack interacts with his paper world in ingenious ways; constantly finding creative ways to solve any problem. I know I'm excited to see it, are you?

Be sure to tune in on the big day, the UK premiere is at 4:30pm on Nick Jr.

During the party there will be lots of online competitions and more fun and games to take part in, so make sure your laptop or PC is ready to go as the party starts. You can join in by using the #zackandquack hashtag and following @UKMumsTV on Twitter.

Watch out for my next post which will be showing you what's in our Party Box!

Save energy & money on your energy bills.

Save energy & money on your energy bills.

I don't know about you but my energy bills have been increasing rapidly over the past few years and they're getting hard to manage now. I have my heating set on a timer to come on for one hour at a time, three times a day when needed most but I often sit there still freezing in between these times which is so not nice. An hour in the morning before we get up and an hour before bed helps a lot but then what happens for the rest of the day? I never know what I'm going to be doing or where I'm going to be so the hour in the middle of the day can often get wasted or not be enough. Getting the right heating routine can be tricky business!

Recently I heard about a new heating control system called Hive which looks really interesting. It's a really clever system that lets you control your heating remotely, whatever you're doing, wherever you are. On holiday, on the train, or from the comfort of your sofa on those lazy Sundays. It costs around £199 for the full kit including professional installation which isn't too bad if it's going to save you money in the long run. It's just a one-off payment and there's no need to switch your energy supplier which is always good news.

Their clever, interactive App is designed to give you control wherever you are. It's Free to download from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and it's very simple to use.

So what do you get for your money? For the £199 your Hive Active Heating will include:

State of the art wireless thermostat, receiver and hub. Free app and online dashboard to remotely control your heating and hot water via phone, tablet and laptop. Professional Installation by a Gas engineer (worth £80).

So with a few taps on the app, a click on the online dashboard or a text means you can always come home to the perfect temperature and never be cold again. Not heating an empty home could save you up to £150 a year on your energy bills which sounds good to me.

It sounds like a pretty good deal to me and I'm now definitely thinking about it. What do you think? Is it something you would use in your home?

#WIN A Month’s Supply Of Vapourlites Electronic Cigarettes #StopSmoking

WIN A Month’s Supply Of Vapourlites Electronic Cigarettes and Stop Smoking!

‘Sugar is the new tobacco’ or so people are saying… But before we all start worrying too much about what’s in that pot of low-fat yoghurt, some of us still need to beat the ‘weed’!

Nicotine is one of the hardest drugs to quit. But it’s not the nicotine that does the harm, of course… it’s how we get it! Setting fire to a cigarette and sucking in the carbon monoxide and toxins (such as arsenic!) is what does the damage.

It’s all very well to say –‘just stop smoking’ but loads of mothers try every year and fail, despite worrying about things like their own health, the smell on their clothes and breath, the dangers of passive smoking around their children, letting the kids see and risking them wanting to be like mum and picking up the habit..

But it takes more than willpower for most people to quit. The stresses of parenting and the habit of that hand-to-mouth action doesn't  exactly help if you're trying to cut down do they?

You may have tried to stop as your January Resolution and you're finding it tough – or you've already decided you can't go on! Well, it’s National No Smoking Day on 12 March and here’s a chance to make a start down the road to recovery.

Most smokers know what an electronic cigarette is. Plenty of ex-smokers credit ‘e-cigs’ with their success so we're offering one lucky winner a month’s supply of Vapourlites electronic cigarettes in this competition. Vapourlites are a British firm and their e-cigarettes are the no.1 choice stocked by UK pharmacies!

Vapourlites comes in rechargeable  ‘full size’ or unique ‘Micro’ – a 7cm soft feel marvel that delivers the equivalent of approximately 15 regular cigarettes for £3.99.

Enter the competition today using the Rafflecopter Form below or if you can’t wait – buy from your local pharmacy or direct from www.vapourlites.com

Spotting The Signs Of A Heart Attack With The Four Ps.

Spotting The Signs Of A Heart Attack With The Four Ps.

This January, St John Ambulance want everybody to make a New Year’s resolution they can keep by learning how to save a life.

By simply watching and sharing a six-second Vine people can learn to spot the four signs of a heart attack known as the Four Ps:

Pain (in the chest)
Pale skin
Pulse (rapid and weak)
Perspiration (or profuse sweating)

Knowing the symptoms will ensure more people can give the appropriate treatment: sit the patient down with knees bent, call 999, and offer them 300mg of aspirin to chew. Given that 92,000 people in the UK suffer heart attacks each year, and a third of those die as a result, this quick and easy resolution can make all the difference.

If you would like to find out more, check out the 4PS info on the St John Ambulance website.

Fairy Non-Bio and The Power of Soft!

Fairy Non-Bio and The Power of Soft!

What a lovely poem, so lovely in fact that I just had to share it with you. This beautiful poem perfectly summarises the research behind Fairy's new campaign, and communicates the insight that, simply, there is nothing better than a cuddle with your newborn baby.

Fairy Non Bio is incredibly proud to have seen millions of mums through every step of their journey with their newborn, helping them enjoy every perfect cuddle by leaving baby’s clothes super soft. They carried out a survey to support their campaign and to summarise it for you, it's all about the importance of removing the pressures, the expectation, the rush, and simply enjoying time spent with your new baby. My three may be growing-up quickly, but it's this power of softness, which unlocks memories of the perfect cuddle before time takes it away.

Many mums start out with Fairy Non Bio to provide great softness next to baby’s skin. But once you're a mum, you never stop caring! That’s why many mums choose to stay with Fairy Non Bio. Fairy Non Bio gives you amazingly clean clothes, soft towels and bedding, all with that gentle feeling of softness next to precious skin.

Fabric Softener: Adding even greater softness to your wash, just one capful of Fairy Fabric Softener keeps the little ones, and no-longer-so-little ones, safe and snug. Whether it’s for softer towels at bathtime, cosier covers for bedtime, or more comforting clothes when they are out and about, Fairy helps you care for your family.

Gel: Everyone loves the convenience of Fairy Non Bio Gel. It packs all that huggable softness into one little bottle, complete with its own dosing cap. Pop a precise little squeeze of gel into the cap, then add that direct to your wash. You’ll soon be marvelling at the wonderful softness and sparkling cleanliness of every load.

Key outtakes from our survey of 1500 mums, as carried out by Mumsnet:

  • Almost 60% spent at least a quarter of their entire day cuddling their newborn.74% of new parents most savoured “cuddle time” over any other moment in the day.
  • 15% of parents with a baby aged 0-6 months  found only an hour or less a day between chores and other pressures to enjoy cuddle time.
  • The number one piece of advice from more experienced parents to new mothers was to “forget the little things because time flies and you can’t get it back”.
  • 70% of parents with babies 9 months+ said that the one thing they would have done differently as a new parent was spending more time cuddling their baby.
The research, carried out by Fairy Non Bio and Mumsnet, surveyed over 1500 parents to look at those early few months spent with their newborn. It found that as new parents, it’s those fleeting newborn cuddles that are the most treasured of experiences, which all too soon become their most cherished memory. Being a mum of 3, I know myself how fast they grow and how important it is to treasure them first few months. Newborn cuddles are just the best feeling in the world so make the most of them, life will still go on even if the house gets messy or the washing isn't all done. Chores can wait sometimes, babies won't stay babies for long.

Gluten-free Genius Spiced Fruit Loaf #Review

Gluten-free Genius Spiced Fruit Loaf

Genius gluten-free and wheat-free Spicy Fruit Loaf has just the right combination of sultanas, currants, raisins and spices. The whole family will love the subtle fruity sweetness, and the hint of cinnamon in every delicious slice. Genius costs £2.99 a loaf and is available from Tesco's now .It's also stocked in many more independent shops and retailers too.

I've been trying the new Genius Spicy Fruit Loaf this week and have to say it's a real winter warmer. It's fruity and flavoursome with a gentle hint of spice, which is just right. I'm not a huge fan of fruit breads but this one was quite nice and I actually enjoyed it. Would I buy it myself? Probably not, because I'm not a huge fruit fan but that's the only reason why. There's nothing wrong with the bread, it's just not for me. My 11 year old daughter Chloe on the other hand loved it, she practically ate the whole loaf apart from the slice I tried. If you like raisins or fruit breads then this could be one for you, it's full of flavour and just waiting to be enjoyed.

Disclosure: I was sent a sample (1 loaf) of this Spicy Fruit Loaf to try for the purpose of this review but the opinions expressed are 100% my own and always honest.

Doc McStuffins Mini Clinic Playset #Review

Doc McStuffins Mini Clinic Playset

The Doc McStuffins Mini Clinic Playset is a fantastic new mini doctor’s case that includes a thermometer, a syringe and 2 casts for little Lambie! This special doctor’s playset also comes with exclusive Doc and Lambie characters and a book of boo boos.

It's not available to buy in the UK yet but watch this space as it won't be long until it is.

The Doc McStuffins Mini Clinic Playset is brought to us by Flair who has a wonderful range of Doc McStuffins toys for all the little Doc fans out there. My little man and Lily love the Doc, she's a real hit in our house. It's the new way to play doctors and nurses apparently.

It's a very cute set which my two loved playing with. I thought it might be a bit basic for them but I was soon proved wrong. They seem to like basic as it then leaves more room for their own imagination. The characters are cute and the set is nice and compact. All the pieces except for Lambie and Doc can fit neatly away inside the case at the end of play which is great for keeping all the pieces safe ready for next time. Ryan loved the casts and is now forever on a mission to make Lambie better which is very cute to watch. We scored the playset a cute 3/5 from all of us here at Mummy Of 3 Diaries. It's just perfect for Doc fans.

Disclosure: We were sent our Doc McStuffins Mini Clinic Playset for free for the purpose of this review but all the opinions expressed are 100% my own and always honest.

Moments That Mattered ...

Moments That Mattered

2013 was a year filled with family, happiness, love and adventure. No one can be happy 100% of the time but when you have a wonderful family around you like I do, it's hard not to try.

January 2013 brought us lots of fun times in the snow. We bought our very first sledge and enjoyed many hours of fun playing with it. The look on their faces was well worth the cold.

March 2013 inspired my latest tattoo. I put my favourite quote on my belly "There's only one happiness in life, To love and be loved" which sums me up perfectly! My family are my world and I love them so much and in the grand scheme of things, they are all that really matters.

Meeting Justin Fletcher (Mr Tumble) was a huge highlight of 2013 for my family, that was the most amazing day of our year. Meeting Justin and watching his show was amazing!

Being a bridesmaid for my best friend of 22 years was a real moment that mattered to me. We'd been friends since I was 9 and is the only friend from when I was little I have left. Being a part of her big day was wonderful and I will treasure our friendship forever.

Family holidays are the always the best part of our summer holidays. Time spent together having fun is the best feeling ever. Butlins is where my children's dreams all come true.

Family Birthdays are always special and definitely moments that matter to me. My little man Ryan turned 3 in June 2013 - he's such a gorgeous little boy who I love so much.

December 2013 brought lots of school assemblies but for my little man he got to play his very first part in a Christmas Play and what a cute little Wise Man he made to.

Last but not least we had a very special visitor last Christmas, Santa Claus himself joined us. (It was Daddy in a suit) We had the most amazing Christmas ever and will never forget it.

Peppa Pig Weebles Wind and Wobble Playhouse #Review

Peppa Pig Weebles Wind and Wobble Playhouse

Weebles Wobble, but they never fall down! Have hours of fun with Peppa's Wobbly Playhouse! Wind the handle to move Peppa up to the top and then down she slides... splash into the muddy puddle! An exclusive Peppa Weeble included (1 figure supplied).

The Peppa Pig Weebles Wind and Wobble Playhouse is brought to you from Character and costs £29.99. It's perfect for all the little Weeble fans out there as well as all the Peppa Pig ones. Luckily for me my little man Ryan is a huge fan of both so as you can imagine he was so excited when he saw this, his little face lit up.

Weebles are great as they're nice chunky sized characters that wobble around but never fall down. They really are lots of fun and great for little ones who love to play with playsets. One thing I really liked about this playset is that it's all one big piece (except for a small piece of green grass which is attached to the back) I, as a mum hate playsets that keep falling apart during play so I'm really pleased with this one. Ryan can play as rough as he likes without the fear of breaking something or knocking something off.

There's lots of little places to put Peppa, the slide is Ryan's favourite. You put Peppa on the bottom of the blue conveyor belt style chair lift and wind the handle until she reached the top and then falls down the slide and into the muddy puddle at the bottom. Peppa's got her very own swinging swing and merry go round which you can move by turning the pretty flower.

There's a place for Peppa to sit or hide at the back of the house and even a perch on the very top with a great view. Ryan's been playing with his new toy all week, he seems to be really enjoying it too. It's a great toy for playing alone or with others. Our next step will be to buy some more Peppa Pig Weebles so that he can make them interact and expand his imagination even further. The separate Peppa Pig Weeble characters are around £4.99 which isn't too bad as I'm sure they're going to be well loved and played with. This playset seems hard wearing and well built so far, Ryan can play quite rough sometimes so it's perfect.

The Peppa Pig Weebles Wind and Wobble Playhouse is aimed at children aged 18 months and over, there's no small parts or loose fittings making it a great toy. My Ryan is 3 now but still loves his playset style toys, they're never too old to play with Weebles. My girls who are aged 6 and 11 years have been having a play too, they all love it including me.

We love the Weebles toys and adored this Peppa Pig Playhouse set, it's a nice solid toy with lots of room for imaginative play. With lots of things for Peppa to do, it gives the kids lots of play ideas and fun. We're happy to score it a very well deserved 5/5 - we loved it.

Disclosure: We received our Peppa Pig Weebles Wind and Wobble Playhouse for free for the purpose of this review but all the opinions expressed are my own and 100% honest.

It's Time For A Change!

It's Time For A Change!

This might look like any ordinary photo to you, but to me it made me stop and think. Last night I went out with my friends which I love doing but instead of me wearing my usual pretty size 8/10 dress I wore a size 12 all in one suit. Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely outfit and I felt wonderful in but it made me realise just how much weight I'd been putting on over the past few years. I eat a lot of 'junk food' but it's hard not to when I freak out when faced with vegetables or fruit. It's been this way for as long as I can remember but it's got to stop and now!

I was always able to eat what I liked when I was younger and never put on any weight but back then I was always active and burning it off. These days I find myself still eating the same foods but then sitting in front of the TV or the laptop which is obviously not working for me. I want my flat stomach back and I'm finally prepared to work for it. I've been planning on joining my local gym for a few months now but it's just never been the right time until now. I am going to rejoin next Tuesday and go at least twice a week. I'm going to cut out the snacks, the crisps, the sweets and the fizzy pop which I consume an awful lot of. I'm going to try and eat an apple a day, even if it kills me and I will try my best to eat healthier foods when I can.

It's going to be really hard for me but I am going to give it a shot, I really need too as I'm starting to dislike who I see in the mirror. I don't see the young attractive woman I once saw, all I see now is the wobbly belly and the chunky hips and I don't like it.

So, thsi is my first step in the right direction. Today I have admitted to myself and to all of you that I do need to change which is a pretty big step in my eyes. I bet a lot of other people are feeling just like me right now so I know I'm not alone, which makes me feel a bit better.

Tomorrow is going to be the first day of the new me - Wish me luck x

LivLife, a new low carb bread #Review

LivLife, a new low carb bread.

New LivLife Seriously Seeded is baked using a tasty mix of linseeds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, making it a deliciously, healthy alternative to normal bread that tastes just like regular seeded bread. It offers the best of both worlds with the taste sensation of a freshly baked loaf but with 50% fewer carbs per 100g, compared to regular seeded, white and brown sliced loaves – perfect for anyone who is watching what they eat.

I tried this for the first time today and have to hold my hands up and say Oh My God - I love it! I'm not a fan of brown bread although I do like a nice piece of Granary at times but this, this is just delicious. It was soft and fresh and full of seeded goodness, although it's quite thin it actually tasted like it was really thick. Today I replaced my mid-afternoon snack of crisps with two slices of LivLife with a generous helping of Clover Light and was pleasantly surprised by how filling it was. I actually enjoyed it much more than I thought I would have. I think I've found myself a new alternative, slightly healthier snack to enjoy.

LivLife is available in Waitrose, Morrisons & Ocado stores across the country. RRP £1.99

LiveLife is currently trying to help the nation stick to their new years resolutions by making them public and sharing them with your friends and family. You can make a #LivLifePledge on their Facebook page and enter some of the competitions they've got running too.

My #LivLifePledge for 2014 is simply to smile more!

Get Personal This Valentines Day! #Review

Get Personal This Valentines Day!

Are you looking for cheap but cheerful gifts this Valentines Day? ... I know I am! I love personalised gifts as they always make it that little bit more intimate and special.

This Valentine's Day what will you be giving your loved one? I don't like to buy into the whole commercial side of it all personally so a small gift will be just right for me.

I love this cute Personalised Purple Ronnie Mug - Brilliant Boyfriend. How cute is that?

I'm a big fan of poetry so this one was just perfect for me. I like the way you can add the name of your choice to give it that extra special touch, it's so easy to do too. It costs just £9.99 and looks fantastic. It's shiny and glossy and really high quality, the writing is bold and clear and very well presented. I wouldn't mind a mug like this for myself, with my name on and "Great Girlfriend" obviously. It's a simple gift idea but also a very useful one for all those tea or coffee drinking partners. I was really pleased with the quality of it for the low price and I'm sure he's going to love it! If he don't then I can always keep it all for myself.

How about a fun Personalised Valentine's Card - We're The Perfect Pear. I love this card, it's cute and fun and just totally fabulous! For just 99p you can add the two names of your choice and enjoy this perfect card. This is definitely my kind of card, cheap and cheerful.

What ever you decide on giving this Valentine's Day ( If you are ) then why not check out GettingPersonal.Co.Uk. They've got lots of great gift ideas for every budget and the cards are pretty cool too. I will definitely be checking them out myself next year.

Get Personal With Your M&M's #Review

Get Personal With Your M&M's

Roses are red, violets are blue M&M’S World London is soft launching its new

Personalised Printer for Valentine’s just for you!

Whether you want to say: ‘Be my Valentine’, ‘I love you’ or ‘Will you marry me?’– the new Personalised Printer at M&M’S World London will give you the opportunity to say it your way.

The new custom printing service, which officially launches in March, will enable the in-store personalisation of M&M’S Brand Milk Chocolates in just two minutes.  The service will offer the option to choose from 15 different colours and one mix blend, as well as select up to four icons choosing from hundreds of options and/or create their own personalised message to feature on their bespoke M&M’s blend from a touch screen booth.  Once selected, visitors deposit the M&M'S into the machine, and press a button before their personalised M&M’s are dispensed.

Visitors to the London store will be able to add a personal and heartfelt visual to their M&M’s by selecting from a gallery of clip art images, including: engagement rings, champagne flutes and love hearts – perfect for proposals, celebrating engagements and wedding favours.

Each M&M’S Brand Milk Chocolate personalised blend will be available in a range of sweet cup sizes starting at £15.99 for a small container.

The Personalised Printer can be found on the lower ground floor of M&M’S World store, located at 1 Swiss Court, London, W1D 6AP.  The store opens daily from 10am to midnight, and from 12pm to 6pm on Sunday.

I love this idea, how romantic could that be? Just imagine, you open a bag of M&M's and find a mixture of pretty pink love hearts and thoughtful "Will You Marry Me?" candies. Proposals of 2014 could be brought to a whole new creative level - how romantic.

If you fancy showing your creative side with M&M's this Valentines Day, you now know where to go. Get yourself down to the London store and have a go, who knows what you might come up with? If you do decide to propose this year using M&M's I'd love to hear all about it.

M&M's always taste great (to me) but now they can look even better. What would you write on your special M&M? I think I'd print off some 4 leaf clovers for luck and some cute little cupids.

I received a small bag of personalised M&M's for the purpose of this review but all the opinions expressed are my own and 100% honest.

At What Age Did Your Children Learn To The Time?

At What Age Did Your Children Learn To Tell The Time?

Lily is now 6 years old and still learning to tell the time, she can tell me what hour it is like 6 O'Clock and so on but she's still struggling to get to grips with the rest of it. At what age did your children learn to tell the time? Chloe is 11 now but I can't remember at what point she actually mastered the art of time telling, does that make me a bad mother? I guess we just have so many milestones in our house happening all the time that sometimes I miss even important things like this. Lily is at the top of her class at school so I'm not worried too much, surely she must be at the same stage as all the other children but I do want to help her learn.

I've been looking at clocks and watches a lot lately, trying to decide which kind would be best for her. I really like the look of the ones that have extra help on them. I've seen some that have the quarter past, half past and quarter too marked on them to help new time tellers to learn that bit easier. My girls have a similar style clock on their bedroom wall, it's a great idea and really works. Lily's learning a little more every day, I'm sure she'll get there in no time.

The pretty Tickers children's watches are just perfect for my Lily. They don't cost a lot of money yet they look great and come in a choice of two colours. They have the extra ring around the edge with the added 5, 10, 1/4 and so on which is great for young children who are still learning to tell the time.

I bought one of these for Lily this Christmas and loved it, it's really been helping Lily a lot. She's not suddenly become a master of time telling over night but she has slowly been improving which I am very happy about. The Watch Hut have lots of watches just like these and many more too. I chose this adjustable velcro strap for now as Lily is only 6 and has the tiniest of wrists but I will be looking at getting her one of the gel type straps as she grows bigger. Hopefully by then she won't need the extra help and will be able to have a big girls watch.

Should I be worried that Lily hasn't quite mastered it yet or should I just relax and let her learn it all in her own time? Lily's a bright girl so I'm sure she'll figure it out eventually. I do stress and over think some things sometimes I guess but that's just what us mums do.

This is a sponsored written by myself, the opinions expressed are my own.

The app will allow users to order free samples directly from their smartphone. There are over 40+ categories and hundreds of free offers to choose from. It's fantastic! I've been having a play around with it over this past week to see what all the fuss is about and I can say it's great.

You can download it NOW onto your iPhone or Android smartphone.

The app is easy to install and only takes a few seconds. Once you've downloaded it there are lots of samples and free stuff to enjoy, it's all right in front of you on the first screen. There is a search bar if you swipe your screen to the left which gives you some more choices, I like this feature as it's direct and straight to the point which can save you time if you are looking for something specific. It saves you having to look through all the offers and go straight to the ones you want. It's definitely my kind of feature, thumbs up.

Once you've found the free offer you like the look of or the sample you would like you simply click on it and go through to the next stage where you simply enter your details.

I think a lot of people are going to love this app, it's really easy to use and great for getting lots of fantastic free stuff. Life doesn't give away much for free but this new app certainly does.

The LatestFreeStuff App is available from today (15th January 20141) so what are you waiting for? Download it now and see what great free stuff you can get!
