Wyld Wood - Premium Organic Cider #Review

Wyld Wood - Premium Organic Cider

This weekend here in the Mummy Of 3 Household, we've been testing out Wyld Wood Cider. It's been a tough job but someone had to do it, it was my pleasure really.

Wyld Wood, formerly known as Premium Organic is a traditional premium cider produced from fruit sourced in Herefordshire’s organic orchards. Fully matured in old oak vats, Westons Wyld Wood cider has a truly apply, fresh and full-bodied taste with a ripe aroma – a true celebration of nature in a glass.

Westons has produced organic cider for over 15 years and Wyld Wood is a brand that comes straight from the heart of their values. It illustrates their deep and ongoing passion for good quality cider and respect for nature and wildlife.

It was re-branded Wyld Wood back in September 2011 to emphasise its organic and rural origin. They wanted to refresh the brand so consumers felt more connected with the simple, natural beauty of its origin.

If you're feeling really Wyld, you can even cook with their cider – it’s a delicious and great addition to any meal! Have a look here for Recipes.

Wyld Wood is available nationwide and you are able to buy it in a variety of supermarket and independent stores across the country, including Waitrose, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsburys. Or of course, you are able to order all the range from the comfort of your own home at their online shop.

They are delighted to be the official cider of Jamie Oliver and Alex James’ Big Feastival this year, the family-friendly foodie and musical festival for 15,000 in the Cotswolds, for the second year running (29th – 31st August). The Wyld Wood Cider Bar is located within a cool tepee which will once again be centrally located. I so wish we were going but it's just a bit too far from home for us being based in Birmingham. If you're local or maybe even just fancy a road trip then the Big Festival sounds like one to check out, it could be fun!

Wyld Wood comes in 500ml glass bottle which are a great size, they're much bigger than I had thought they would be. One bottle serves around two glasses which is perfect for sharing with a partner or a friend or simply enjoying as an afternoon treat like I did. I'm not a cider drinker really but I was happy to try something new. I served my cider chilled which is recommended, the colours are clear, golden and very refreshing looking. The taste is smooth and very balanced, it wasn't very dry but then again it wasn't very sweet either. It has a real natural taste, which is what I guess they were aiming for. It's a real refreshing drink which won't break the bank. A case of 12 x 500ml bottles will cost you £26.00 from their online store which equals around £2.16 a bottle which for a bottle that size is pretty good.

If you don't want a bottle Wyld Wood is also available in bags which come in easy to dispense boxes. These have a 12 months shelf life from filling and a maximum 6 weeks shelf life from when opened which is a pretty long life. 4 x 3L bags in a box would cost you £32.00 from their online shop working out at £8.00 for 3 Litres which is a great price.

The bags in a box were really easy to use and worked really well. I took a box to my mums house this weekend and we all enjoyed a glass together with our Sunday dinner. It was a cheeky Sunday treat which we all enjoyed, my mum and dad loved it. It made a really refreshing change to our usual glass of wine or juice. It's fresh taste went down really well with our meal. My brother enjoyed his glass of Wyld Wood so much that he had a second one later in the garden. The 3 Litre box was great as it had enough in it for my whole family.

It's been a really refreshing change to try something new and I learnt a lot in doing so this weekend. Cider is not just for men but for women too, it's a fresh tasting treat which can be enjoyed by all. I'm happy I tried it and will be drinking it again in the future I think.

Disclosure: We were sent samples of Wyld Wood Cider for the purpose of this review but that doesn't influence our reviews. All the opinions expressed are 100% honest and my own.
