Christmas Gift Ideas: Including The Beano and Tickety Tock #Review

Christmas Gift Ideas: Including
The Beano and Tickety Tock

Christmas is now less than 6 weeks away - Eeek! Every year I always say "This year I'm going to start early and be organised!" but it never actually happens, I guess I just enjoy that last minute rush too much. I know it's not December yet and some people hate hearing the big C word before then but for those who are being organised this year, I thought I'd share a few small gift ideas with you. I'm sure we will have some The Beano or Tickety Tock fans out there.

The Beano A5 Collage Journal ( £9.95) which is available from the Bloomsbury Store and the Beano Annual ( £7.99) would make great little stocking fillers for all the Beano fans out there. They're fun and character filled making them the perfect gifts. I know my eldest daughter is going to love them, she loves to read comics and loves to scribble in her journal.

This gorgeous Dennis the Menace Scribble T Shirt (£16.00) from Fabric Flavours could be what you're looking for. Made from top quality marl fabric that’s been pre-washed for extra softness, and featuring Dennis’s mischievous mug on the front, it’s just what’s required for some serious pranking!  Dennis’s face is appliquéd slap bang in the centre, with his spiky hair brought to life in soft black towelling. 'Menace' is embroidered below in white and his favourite saying; 'I can explain everything!' is printed in the back neck.  The red and grey striped t-shirt features a ribbed neck, striped neck tape and black ‘grin’ stitching along the sleeves and hemline.  And where would Dennis be without his grinning canine sidekick?  To make this t-shirt extra special, you’ll even find a badge of Gnasher appliquéd on the sleeve.

Tickety Toc Mystery Time ( £4.99) is available from all good bookshops and is one of my personal faves. I love hard books as they seem to last much longer in my house! The illustrations are bright and very engaging. The story is fun and easy to follow, I know my little man would love to find this is his stocking on Christmas morning.

Last but not least is the Dick Bruna’s Christmas Book (£10) which is a beautiful book with the sweetest little Angel Bookmark attached inside. This book is the perfect way to share the true story of Christmas with your little ones. It's available from all good bookshops, a definite one to read I think. I'm sure we'll be reading this one a few times before the big day arrives.

I shall be sharing a few more gift idea posts over the next few months and reading lots of other people's too. Christmas is on it's way weather we like it or not. (I'm excited of course).

  1. Gosh it appears a hundred years back that I read the Beano and Dandy comics.I wouldn't see any problems with having a go at the jigsaw puzzle -the Annuals constantly satisfy the desires of the reader and you are never excessively old to have a search through one of these books.Have a nice day.~Laura Smith.
